Sidechain technology has been used since Bitcoin's fastest transactions and its problems came to the fore. Bitcoin transactions can be completed in just two minutes through this process.

The problem with the use of the Ethereum smart contract concept is that they use the sidechain to perform fast transactions and keep the mainchain only for transaction data storage. Transactions that were slowing down the block network using side chains have been resolved and transactions are completing faster.

The sidechain can be used for blockchain applications, known as decentralized apps (dapps), to take some of the computational load off the main chain. These can be combined with other scaling solutions. Another thing here is that there is a point of the federation at the interface between the side chain and the main chain to monitor.
