Hello. It is true that in Latin America the adoption of bitcoin is slower than other parts of Europe and the world, but a survey carried out says that Latin American merchants could begin to massively accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a means of payment but all this would apply for 2025 onwards. This delays Latin America a bit since it would be a bit behind in that sense since other regions of the world seek to adopt bitcoin in the short term.

The recent survey carried out by Ripple and the Fast Payments Council that includes companies that offer payment services in Latin America and the world carried out a study where more than 300 payment companies located in 45 countries participated.

As the graph below will show you, the results of the survey carried out by Ripple show that 67% of the representatives of payment companies with a presence or headquarters in Latin America believe that more than 50% of merchants will begin to accept payments with bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies within 3 years or more.

On the other hand, the percentage of Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East contrasts with the results obtained in Latin America. In the other part of the world it is suggested that the massive adoption of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies among merchants will begin within the next year or earlier.

In my personal opinion, most companies will begin to accept cryptocurrencies in the short term at the end of this year, the adoption of cryptocurrencies at a global level is inevitable.

Despite the fact that the study carried out in the survey points to waiting until 2025 for Latin American merchants to enter the Bitcoin ecosystem, the truth is that currently in Latin America there is a growing adoption of cryptocurrencies with more and more formal and informal businesses accepting cryptocurrencies.
