Hello fellow fitness enthusiasts! I'm excited to share my daily fitness routine with you. After a successful Monday workout, 👉🏽here I'm committed to consistency. Today, I joined StayFit Fitness Club, led by Coach @ngoenyi, for an exhilarating session. In today's fitness post, I'll highlight the exercises we tackled, execution methods, benefits of each exercise and the thrilling outcome of our friendly football game. Let's dive into today's fitness adventure!


Today's wake-up call came later than usual at 6:30 a.m., courtesy of a sleepless night. Realizing I was running behind schedule, I swiftly adapted my morning routine. I prioritized a concise family devotion of 2-minute scripture reflection and a heartfelt prayer. Then, I quickly changed into my workout gear and jogged to the training ground to join my teammates for our scheduled fitness session.

When I arrived there at 7am, I carefully pulled out the branded Steemit jersey, eager to don it for our upcoming football game. To ensure it stayed fresh, I took a moment to air it out, preventing any lingering moisture and keeping it smelling crisp for the exhilarating football game ahead. After that, I turned on the music box and today's fitness training commenced immediately.

Plank Jump

Plank jump was the first exercise we tackled, and to execute this program properly. Here are the simple steps we followed:

  • We started in a plank position with our palms on a flat surface.
  • Stretched our legs behind, keeping them straight.
  • Jumped forward, trying to bring our legs towards our palms.
  • Then quickly return legs to starting position.

Today's challenge was to hit 120 plank jumps! So we were to decide if we're going for straight 120 repetitions or take a break. To achieve this, I started with 35 repetitions for 2 sets, making it 70, then took a minute break, and afterwards did an additional 50 repetitions to make it 120 jumps as required. Conquering the final 50 repetitions, exhaustion set in, but I drew on my inner strength. With the mantra "No pain, no gain" echoing in my mind, I pushed past my limits and achieved my goal.

  • It improves cardiovascular endurance.
  • It strengthens core and our leg muscles.
  • It enhances agility and coordination.
  • It also burns calories.
Reverse Cone Pick-up

Reverse cone pick-up was the second exercise we tackled, and to execute this program properly. Here are the simple steps we followed:

  • We placed cones at a distance in front of us.
  • Started in a plank position with our palms on a flat surface.
  • Stretched our legs behind us and stationary.
  • We reached forward using our palms to walk and pick up a cone with either hand (e.g right).
  • After picking up the cone, we pulled it back to starting position.
  • Then repeated the same process with the other hand.

Following the coach's challenge, we were to retrieve 10 cones without rest! 10 cones were placed at a distance in front of us, and we were instructed by the coach to pick up all of them to the starting position and also return them, making it one set without resting, starting in a plank position. Initially, I was energized and enjoying the program, but after completing two out of four sets, exhaustion hit me hard. Below is the video of the exercise I'm talking about👇🏽.

My vision began to blur, and I felt lightheaded, as if I were intoxicated. Determined to push through, I took a strategic break to rehydrate and recharge. Refreshed and revitalized, I tackled the remaining sets with renewed energy and successfully completed the program.

Physical benefits of reverse cone pick-up exercise

  • It builds muscles in our abs.
  • It improves our core stability and strength.
  • It enhances flexibility and mobility.
  • It develops coordination and balance.
  • And also strengthens our arms and shoulders.

Time flew swiftly, and 8:00 a.m. arrived, signaling the start of our friendly football game. Coach brought the exercise to a close, and we swiftly transitioned into game preparation mode after some minutes stretching routine. Our teammate, Mr. Ambassador, organized us into two evenly matched teams of 9 players each. The teams were designated as Team Blue and Team Yellow, and we were ready to face off.

Playing the friendly football game today was part of my fitness daily routine, because it helps to:

  • Improve cardiovascular health
  • Increase strength and agility
  • Enhance teamwork and social skills
  • Boost mental well-being and stress relief
  • Burn calories and maintain weight

It was a tough contested friendly match, with both teams creating scoring opportunities, but ultimately ending in a 0-0 stalemate. The center referee's final whistle signaled the end of the game. Post-match, we rehydrated and refueled with refreshments, capping off today's fitness routine on a high note. Stayfit and steemfit.🏋🏽‍♂️💪🏾
