"Contest Alert 👉Dance your way to fitness (WK #1)"

in hive-150419 •  25 days ago  (edited)

Another motivation to showcase my dancing skills through fitness came with this contest. Throughout this year, all my dances focused on building the muscles in my legs and my butt and they are mostly waist dance. I find it difficult to dance normal afro beats ever since I last danced it a year ago.

Here, this contest has brought about a mind-blowing motivation to me to bring those skills publicly and stand a chance of exercising and stay fit. When I saw at least 30 minutes of dance, I was like......coach @ngoenyi wants to kill me. I'm not like those people who dance when advertising products tirelessly without stopping but that didn't stop me from giving a try. My dance video is below and I'll appeal my readers and viewers don't use it for skit 🤣.

Warm Up Exercises

I didn't carry out this dance your way through the fitness challenge in just one day. I spent the whole week preparing for this. I tried, tried and tried then I got it. On Friday which was a dance day in my fitness training center, I did warm-ups before moving to doing the dance proper.

The warm-ups were quite easy for me but painful for those who haven't been keeping fit regularly. The first warm-up program I did was Jump Squat. This was carried out by standing on the ground with a step board in front of me. Then I'll jump on the step board with my legs open.

When I'm up, I'll squat and then jump down with my legs open and then I'll be upright with my legs brought together. That's how I did warm-ups for butt fitness so I'll be able to shake my waist when dance calls for it.

The next warm-up program I did was still a butt exercise but this time, not just the butt but the legs as the pressure was felt mostly on the legs while the butt serves as curvature. I call it walking or moving squats. I did this by suspending my butt on the air while my legs do the movement from left to right. It wasn't easy though but was achievable and refreshing.

These are videos of me dancing. The first video is a 12 minute video of my team members and I, dancing our way to fitness with the songs given us. It was so refreshing and entertaining. I saw it as an energetic exercise for full body and it was more entertaining than normal fitness. I wish we could be dancing everyday🤣.......

The videos below are videos of me trying again and again to get it right with the Shake Body song I used. My target was to shake off my butt while my legs were extended in such as way that I'm squatting. It was part of the song though and from the beatings, I felt moving my butt was best in that area.

It's so funny but I didn't last even with the four songs I played. I felt so tired and sweaty already. I felt more like in a club with hit up jams. I know if I was dancing with people, I wouldn't have felt so tired. I would have felt even more motivated to reach the minimum minute of 30.

I made 15 minutes dance, at least half of the minimum. Next time, I'll ensure I surpass my record. The Song Shake Body by Skales is a old song compared to latest hit jams. I usually hear these songs when I was a little boy and still grow up to love the vibes in the song. I danced four different songs

  • Shake Body
  • On top your matter
  • Terminator
  • JUJU

The first two are songs for butt most especially while the last two are for legwork, break dance and swings. Looking forward to participating in this again.

Deadlift Squat

I may not really get the name of the program but what I did involved holding a barbell with two hands and taking it down with a squat position and then up again. I did this consistently for 10 times - 2 sets while those watching me were doing the count. It didn't really feel the pressure because fitness is now becoming an embodiment. I did stretches at the end of it to shake off the compressed muscles in my legs and butt, springing from the dance.

To be sincere, I had no challenge as the programs are already becoming used to me the way I'm used to them. I was so happy at the end. The smile behind an achievement is best expressed in pictures not just in words. The benefits I derived from dancing are quite numerous. I see dancing as a full body exercise and particularly the one I did, my area of concentration was on my butt and legs. So I'll channel the benefits to what I did.

  • I derived pain from squat to shake my waist and butt in the process of dancing and this pain was felt in my legs muscles and butt. There was a compression and that's where the fitness touched.

My legs were made firm and I felt refreshed and comfortable when sitting on hard surfaces as I don't change the position to see which surface isn't rougher. The dance made me energised too and hyperactive as a cardio exercise. In conclusion, it was entertaining which suppressed the pain from being felt initially. That's the end of my dance your way to Fitness part 1

Coming soon... a SteemFit #flashmob

With everyone in matching Steem T-shirts.

Wonder where a good location would be...

A SteemFit #flashmob will be an interesting initiative. I can't wait! If I am permitted to respond, we can have it at the same location where we are having our fitness training and share such on our other social media handles.

Oba's playground is directly opposite Pan African comprehensive secondary school Uyo.

@bossj23, what do you think?

It would be an entertaining initiative and would be a better way of promoting steemit

I love the way you visualise things. Can't wait for this to be actualized. Give us

31 Days

From now. I wanted to shock you with the location but @ngoenyi has already given you a tail 😀. Regardless, in 31 days from now, we'll hit it hard in the perfect location tagged as over 30 Steemians have matching T-shirts

31 days is a perfect timing, that will be good after the meetup when everyone owns a matching steemit polo

Exercise is very good, but I don't understand the pains I go through afterwards, sometimes it discourages me from exercising myself. You are a good dancer but more efforts are needed you have to listen to the song so that you can dance alone with the tone.

Thanks a lot ma. Appreciated. I can't wait to see you dance on the 31st

I've been through this publication and all I could do was laugh and laugh. Bro, you're doing amazingly good 👍.

🤣🤣🤣......Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate
