Polar Bears: Living Representations of Arctic Nature

Polar bears are one of the toughest beasts in the Arctic, illustrating the beauty and the cruelty of the frozen world. These powerful hunters are well-suited to the harsh conditions of the North Pole, which they traverse in search of sustenance across snow-covered land and ice.
The build of a polar bear, which includes thick white hair, as well as a significant amount of blubber, helps them properly cope with very low air temperatures. Their paws are so large that they would be considered snowshoes on land. Their well developed sense of smell also allows them to hunt seals, their primary target, from very far distances.
It's sad to mention, but there is no bright future prospects for polar bears. The ice cap is melting due to human activities and this shrinkage of habitat leads to a decline in their hunting territories and makes it terribly hard for the bears to locate food sources. This has resulted in a drop in the number of polar bears and raised worries about their existence.
Still, polar bears remain a quintessential representation of the delicate balance that exists in nature. This natural balance is disturbed when these animals and their habitat are threatened, which in turn affects the biological diversity found in the relatively isolated areas of the Arctic regions as well as the diversity of biological communities around the globe.
