Ad Networks, Ad bid markets, Ad Systems... etc

Many APPS are working on the same issues and feature sets... this is one of them.

In this community we will be discussing the following.

What different Apps are doing in regards to the topic.
If there are ways to help each other save time or effort
How to support other apps regarding this TOPIC using our own apps.
If this topic should be
A. Decision for a simple protocol/standard that will help
B. Candidate for a more in depth RFC
C. More just as a topic for group discussion

I know @starkerz and myself were talking about decentralized ad network at steemfest
Also looks like there is a guy with an ad system proposal right now on the SPS @iamwatsi

What are the key elements we are looking for in some sort of decentralize ad network type system that many apps could use?

Hi guys! Got access to the communities beta site and I saw this discussion just now.

I started working on Native Ads a few months ago. In short, I'm proposing an ad system as an upgrade to Hivemind Communities, which front-ends can access using the same Hivemind API.

Some of the elements I took into consideration:

Free market, competitive bidding
Flexible revenue options (collect to community acc, or burn)
Multi party, transparent processes (ads and bids are on the blockchain, mods approve/reject)

The Design Overview doc goes into a lot more detail on how Native Ads will work. It's a living doc so it might change slightly as development continues.

What do you guys think?

VS Promotion System

STEEMPEAK has a post promotion system that is really easy to use across platforms that we'd love other systems to jump in on. However this thread is about AD systems which i think is a bit different. But we can create a new post about the promotion system and if any other systems want to jump in let's chat.
