That was the idea as Steemit started. An extra plus might be if with those communities the right hashtags can be selected that is.. if those communities know what they stand for. Most don't. Also, hashtags should be international, and the first 4 counts. You cannot expect anyone to promote Steemit if the author cannot promote his content.
The fact is communities are messy, chaotic and content can't be found. What helps is if witin one community hosts of contests start using the same hashtags and stick to it. They community can make a list, pin it, to tell the poster which ones are used but also make it easier for readers and curators to find a certain topic. It's really not as complicated as it sounds if certain rules are followed.
Example:
first hashtag: community (topic) for example entertainment, betterlife, steemladies
2nd hashtag: topic content for example: sports, choices, education, fun
3rd hashtag: subtopic for example basketball, job, language, memes
Unfortunately this is not so easy...
Way back we were told that the tag #contest is only related to the announcement of posts.
Well, it is truly not the case despite all efforts.

Het zou wel zo moeten zijn, omgekeerd zou het ook niet zo moeten zijn dat ik "Contest Alert' in mijn titel moet zetten als ik meedoe aan een wedstrijd.
Laat maar waaien? Dan kunnen we dat wel met alles doen en lekker vrij schrijven en posten wat wij willen.
Een nieuwe Steem School zonder oubolligheid zou ook niet gek zij, een voor de creatieveling.
Dan heb ik nog 4 - 6 communities nodig om mijn epistels te sorteren.

Flower Power zou fijn zijn. Ik denk daar de laatste tijd steeds vaker aan maar de middeleeuwen voelen als thuis.

Het valt niet mee om authentiek te zijn en als dat lukt dan dan gaat er iemand met de buit vandoor.
