I completely agree that comments deserve more attention and recognition.
I've always said in the Italian community that good interaction enriches the community and adds value to the content.
What value does a post have without comments? Has it been read by anyone?
If comments were considered and rewarded like posts, there would be a great chance that interactions across the platform would increase.
Engaging with comments takes time, and if we have to write them in another language, it requires even more attention and the use of a translator to correct any mistakes.
Therefore, from my perspective, comments should be valued and given more visibility.
Regarding the automated comments from steemcurators, I understand that it would be nicer to personalize them for each user, but this takes a lot of time.
A curator has a set time to vote, you know, also considering the account recharge time, if the voting power falls below 90%, lower rewards are distributed, after which the work passes to the next colleague.
However, we could focus on quality by voting for fewer posts and comments each day while personalizing the automated comment.
This could serve as an example to all Steemit users and provide greater recognition for the curated posts.
In any case, Steemit is a constantly evolving platform, and dialogue among everyone is always positive: we can always find new ideas to improve the work being done.
How about testing for a few weeks if commenting and engagement increases if a few people start commenting daily in one community?
Do you have any idea how many new posts Italy has per day?
Perhaps with a group of 5 we can comment daily and see what happens.
What do you think?

In Italy it already happens. Users comment on each other. We of italygame take care of the comments with 10% of the vote, about 10 comments per day. Of course it's not a lot to entice people to comment, but it's a small support.
If you take a look through the posts there is enough interaction. For example @lupega, @kork75, @aston.villa, @pousinha, @robytrix, @dim753, are the most active but there are many others.
However, I'm open to any experiment.😉
