Hello everyone, I hope you will be fine here. I am very excited about that I am posting in steem school a very excellent community. Today I am telling you about a largest Tehsil of our beautiful country Pakistan. I am sure that you may like my post.

Geography

Depal Pur is situated 25 kilometer from district Okara which is the province of Punjab. Okara is situated at the bank of Beas river in Bari Doab. Depal Pur on the other way is situated at distance of round about 120 kilometer from Lahore on Lahore Multan Grand trunk road. It lies on Radcliffe line/ Indo- Pak border. Therefore it's geographic importance for defence is very high in the past.

History

Depal Pur has a great historical past and very ancient town. The fortified town of Depal Pur is built on an old Kashan site (40 A.D to 172 A.D). The fortifications themselves are very ancient, tough it is possible to determine with their date. In the idea of all that this is older than the visitation of Taimur (1398 A.D). According to the Ibnash Chandra Das, round about 2000 years ago, Depal Pur was a habitat of Aryans. He is Bengali historian.
From the time of Alexander to the time of Mehmood Ghaznavi, no account of Depal Pur is, however available. Depal Pur Sarkar had 29 Mahals, when administration unit under Mughal Rule.
The Mongols invaded this part of the country repeatedly and they were checked at Depal Pur by Ghias-ud-Din Balban and his son Shahzada Muhammad. During last invasion of Punjab in 1285 A.D Pir Muhammad khan Mangol (also called Samar Khan) was defeated at Depal Pur. But during the pursuit of retreating Mangols, Shahzada Muhammad was killed. According to the Gazette of 1935, the town was founded by Siri Chand, it was called Siri Nagar. The present name of the town is said to have re-founded the town, one view is that the town was named after Raja Deva Pala.
In the 14th century, Feroze Shah Tughlaq regularly visited this place.

Culture

It is also known for wide variety of culture reflecting the traditions and customs of the area. Fairs in the month of Saawan and weddings on shrines are notable under these traditions. Where different types of games are played on the drum beat and shops of sweet and toys are decorated.

Mostly people speak Punjabi here because Punjabi is called mother language.

Depal Pur is famous for its fertile land, peaceful natural environment and green fields of potatoes, tomato, sugarcane, wheat, rice and maize crops. Oranges and mangoes orchards are famous. The area of Depal Pur is the gold mine for history seekers, spiritual and curious travellers. Depal Pur land is famous for special for cultivation of potatoes and maize crops.

Shrines

Hazrat Bhawal Sher Qalander very famous Sufi is in Hujra Shah Muqeem. Many other Sufi good religious people in the city of Basir Pur. Basir Pur city is famous for school for seeking Holy Quran and many shrines.

Depal Pur is a Tehsil/Block (C.D) in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh. Total area of Depal Pur is 797 km including 787.5 km rural areas and 9.1 urban areas and .4 on river water.

Population

According to latest counting population of Depal Pur is 228101 people. There are round about 147 village in this Tehsil. There are round about 72763 houses in the Sub-District. There are round about 34104 houses in which male members are 92410 and 87634 of female and total is 180044.
There are round about 8659 houses of urban areas in which male members are 24688 and females are 23369.

People like to play Kushti, Kabadi, Cricket, Hockey, Football, Tennis and Racing of men and other animals.
