Some time ago around the year 2008 my dad was not paid his monthly salary for close to 5 months and we had no food and my two siblings were out of school because my dad couldn’t afford to pay their fees. He had no option than to borrow from an individual and this usually came without collateral for the loan collected. The time due to pay was over and my dad was unable to pay back this loan he collected, the person who gave him a loan asked that he pay back but my dad couldn’t and pleaded with the man to extend the payback time that he will pay back with interest. My dad explained to him why he was unable to pay back and this was because the government was owing them salaries for months. This man didn’t want to listen to my dad’s plea and ordered the police to come and arrest my dad but neighbors around pleaded and he left. The next day he came with some persons and asked to carry our television together with our generator and living room seats. This was an embarrassing thing I was not very small but I cried in shame because I couldn’t help my dad pay up. I personally knelt down to beg this man to give us more time but he said no instead he made us look bad and useless.

These persons who did this are still around our community doing same with other persons who borrow and are unable to pay. I won’t call them wicked but what they next is extremely inhuman, one is supposed to pay up his or her debts but the manner they come for it is not worth it. Today I look at that incident and I am thankful for what God is doing in my life and maybe in future I won’t borrow money I can’t pay back.

These people are still very much around given out loans and taking back high interest rate and nobody seem to say anything to them, in some cases they give out loans call police on such persons and the police in turn lock these persons up until they are able to pay these loans. They are Alston good health and don’t look like they have a problem, these people have been doing this as early as 1998 to this day and those same persons are still ruining families and they don’t look like it will end anytime soon.

Learn to have a good heart and treat people the way you would want them to treat you. Have a good heart.
