That every time I have to convince myself

The story of my heart is like that of Coronavirus victims
It pierces through my heart like the sword that was used to cut a million dollar's bet.
My heart bleeds like that of the Italian family
Just at 14 years we were already in love
WhatsApp was the meal that we took every single minute
Lieing to one another of how we'll love each other till eternity
How we promised one another honey yet ended up with bitter herbs
Tears and regrets
How you healed my sorrows with laughter and showed me the mirror
Yes
The mirror to look at myself and to stand firm
Did we not talk of plans aside
Yes
We did.
We promised each other that if destiny doesn't favor us
We'd mingle and pursue each other even in our future separate marital times
Did we not choose the green grass ,under that beautiful tree that shared a cool Victorian breeze
That we were to run after one another like they do in soap operas
Yes
We did
We at moments became jubilant when time favored us
And we ended in similar environments
The devil is a liar
All these vanished with just a transition
And I became the upcountry man
And you became the City woman
Beauty truly doesn't favor ugly men like me
You've left me with a thunderbolt
Just like president Trump knows not the approach to combat the Covid-19
Now that my breath is lost
And ICU is saying hi to me
My ribs complaining like Petitioners after elections
Will you see the pain in my heart
Will you see the holes in my heart
Will you recognize how beautiful you are in my world
Will you observe me hang myself
Let's get back
Let's re-open the chapter of our eternity
Where we'd be together till our hairs turn grey
For this is the only word with a promise...
