Hello friends, I'm back on this platform after being disconnected for a long time, I hope I can start again actively making some interesting posts every day for the community and all of us, hoping for all of your support. This time I will start with a post on this beautiful plant.
Origin of the plant This plant grows wild in subtropical rainforests in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Aglaonema can thrive in places with little sunlight because it is covered by the canopy of large trees in the forest.
The first reference to aglonema was published in 1704 by Camellus, a Jesuit priest in the Philippines. This plant is a member of the Araceae family, also known as Arum-like plants and includes around forty species.
The name aglonema comes from Greek which consists of the words agláos and nema. Agláos means shining, while néma means thread. This name is taken from the shining stamens of the male flowers of the aglonema plant.
This plant has flowers that grow under the leaves with female flowers at the base and male flowers higher up. Male flowers have small, shiny stamens as the name suggests. Aglonema leaves have very beautiful leaf colors with various colors. Some popular colors are light green, hints of red, yellow and silver.
Apart from the beautiful leaf color, the specialty of this plant is that it is very easy to care for compared to other deciduous plants. Aglonema can adapt well to weather changes and does not die easily.
Therefore, if you are a beginner in gardening, don't worry about choosing aglonema as an ornamental plant. It is best to wipe the surface of the leaves with a damp cloth so that the leaves are not covered in dust and can breathe easily.
