Introduction

The full name of Pakistan is Islamic Republic of Pakistan .It covers an area of 796,096 square kilometers .Pakistan is located in the south of the continent of Asia. It is a country having fertile land,lofty plains, rivers and beautiful valleys.

Geographical Importance of Pakistan

Pakistan is a vast country which, in south, stretches from the coasts of The Arabian Sea and Deltaic Plains of the River Indus to high mountains ranges in the north. The eastern and southern part is covered with river plains whereas the western part consists of many high mountain ranges .Pakistan is fortune because God has blessed it with ideal physical environment.Physical environment has significant effects on the economic, social,cultural and other activities.

Location f Pakistan

Pakistan is located between latitudes 23.5* and 37* N and longitudes 61* and 77* E. India lies in the East of Pakistan which has the second largest population in the world. India is an agricultural as well as an industrial country.The length of border between Pakistan and India is 1600 kilometers. China is in North of Pakistan, which has the largest population in the worid. China has emerged as an economic force in the world. The length of border between Pakistan and China is 600 kilometers. Afghanistan is situated to the North-west of Pakistan. The adjoining border with with Afghanistan is called the DURAND LINE. The length of this border is 2250 kilometers .Iran is in west of Pakistan and border length between Pakistan and Iran is 950 kilometers.

Importance of location of Pakistan

As the location of Pakistan is concerned, it occupies specific importance in South Asia but all over the world. Pakistan is a key source to establish link between East and West.In the South of Pakistan Arabian Sea is located, which is the part of Indian Ocean .Most of the trade between East and west is done through the Rout of Indian Ocean .Thus Pakistan has much significance because of its location on an important trade rout.Many countries of Persian Gulf are linked with Pakistan through Arabian Sea.The Arabian sea has always been the center of attention among major powers e.g CPACK
