Acting (Acting) Governor of Aceh Bustami became Inspector of the 77th Cooperative Day Ceremony at the Aceh Governor's Office Yard, Tuesday 16 July 2024. The ceremony was attended by officials within the Aceh Government, ASNs at the Aceh Regional Secretariat as well as ASNs from the Aceh Apparatus Work Unit, a number of ASNs and officials from other agencies.
During the ceremony, the Acting Governor of Aceh read a speech by the Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Teten Masduki, who highlighted the strategic role of cooperatives in leading Indonesia towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
On the 77th anniversary of Cooperatives Day, the theme "Cooperatives as an Ecosystem for Consolidation, Acceleration and Escalation of the Micro and Small Economy" was chosen to emphasize the importance of cooperatives in facing the challenges of the global crisis.
In his speech, the Minister of Cooperatives said that various crises, ranging from the economy, food, energy, climate, to geopolitics, had created uncertainty.
Indonesia is also feeling the impact of these crises, such as fluctuations in food prices and uncertainty about harvest times. The Minister emphasized the importance of togetherness, caution and quick action in dealing with this crisis.
The Minister of Cooperatives highlighted the fact that more than 99 percent of business actors in Indonesia are Micro Enterprises, which often experience difficulties in getting access to financing, innovation and technology.
The current economic structure is considered inadequate to achieve the target of increasing per capita income fivefold by 2045. Therefore, cooperatives are expected to play an important role in consolidating and accelerating the growth of Micro and Small Enterprises.
One of the efforts made is by strengthening the Revolving Fund Management Institution (LPDB) by setting 100 percent of its financing for cooperatives. Apart from that, the corporatization and cooperative-based fishing model, such as the construction of the Red Edible Oil factory and the distribution of subsidized fuel through the SOLUSI scheme, is expected to increase the economic scale of Micro and Small Enterprises.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of building Joint Production Houses (RPB) which are managed by cooperatives to produce quality products and high economic value. The Minister emphasized that cooperatives must continue to adapt, be innovative and accountable in facing the challenges of ever-changing times.
Good governance and accountability of cooperatives need to be strengthened so that cooperatives are increasingly trusted by the community. It is also hoped that the Draft Cooperative Law will be promulgated soon to strengthen a better cooperative institutional ecosystem.
The Minister of Cooperatives thanked all cooperative administrators and members for their perseverance and example. However, the Minister reminded us not to become complacent and continue to encourage more Indonesians to cooperate.
With the cooperative spirit continuing to be transmitted to the younger generation, it is hoped that more and more Micro and Small Enterprises will advance to the next level and contribute to Indonesia's economic growth.
