Two wooden construction kiosks and stilt buildings on the side of the road to the east of Bireuen, precisely in the Cot Gapu Village area on Monday (24/2/2025) at around 06.40 WIB, burned down.
In addition to burning down the entire contents of the kiosk, the fire also devoured a motorized pedicab unit, and caused the kiosk owner to suffer burns on the soles of his feet. The cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short circuit from the roof of the kiosk.
The wooden kiosk that burned down was a coffee shop and noodle shop owned by Harpen Dinas Manurung alias Danil (41), with an address in Dusun Utara, Cot Gapu Village, Bireuen.
When the fire occurred, Danil was in his shop so he suffered burns on the soles of his feet. The victim was immediately taken to Jeumpa Hospital for medical treatment.
Another kiosk was selling credit and other goods owned by Sri Mulyani (36), a resident of Cot Gapu Village, Bireuen.
According to the information obtained, a few moments before the incident, the victim Harpen Dinas Manurung was sleeping in a kiosk. Suddenly he felt a hot breeze.
Then, Harpen immediately checked the kiosk building and saw that there was already a fire on the roof. The victim immediately saved himself and tried to remove items that could be saved.
While trying to save his belongings, Harpen's two legs were hit by fire and suffered burns. One of his motorized pedicabs was also burned and only the frame remained.
Seeing the fire disaster, a number of residents immediately asked for help from the Bireuen fire engine. A few moments later, two fire engines from the Bireuen Main Post arrived at the location and immediately put out the fire.
The speed of the fire spread to the two kiosks so that the two kiosks could not be saved anymore. Another kiosk unit to the west of the burned kiosk was successfully saved.
