Today I will write about an interesting YouTube project that is currently ongoing in Korea.
This project is called 'Money Game'
The idea of the project is this.
8 players get stuck in an isolated place. The only way to communicate with outside is to use an interphone inside their rooms. (Each player has own room.) Players cannot go outside. When they need something, they have to use the interphone to buy things. Then staffs will bring them what they ordered.
And then, it gets more interesting.
8 players are given approx. 480,000,000 KRW, which is about 400,000 U.S dollars.
They have to survive 14 days by sharing only this given money. They have to buy things that will help them build toilets, help them sleep, fill their stomachs and so on.
And players will share the remained money as a prize after 14 days of stay ends.
Now, you might think it is so easy because 400,000 dollars is a huge amount of money although 8 players have to share and players have to buy everything for every case. But there is a trick. Inside this isolated place, everything costs 100 times more than it costs outside. For example, if a bottle of water is 1 dollar outside, players have to pay 100 dollars of given 400,000 dollars.
It has been broadcast only 6 episodes but players are fighting and insulting each other like crazy, even psychiatrists had to interfere and check their mental health.
It is such an interesting social experiment. This program is one of my biggest amusement these days.
