It was a black friday. The sun shone harder piercing through skins.
4th of February, a saturday morning when a phone call came in. Minutes later i was in pieces.
'Accident' 'stab' 'hospital', were the only words i could make out of the so many sentences.
My heart gave an instant thud, i picked up my handbag, tucked in some naira notes, and flew out from the house.
Mike had said he will be back in three days, that the submit went well, and would like to relax a few more days before returning to Uyo, now...
At the hospital he laid unconscious, the doctor said he went into coma, i cried my eyes out. Everything seemed so unreal.
I returned back home to prepare myself to stay by him the next day, mistakenly i fell asleep when shadows began to play, i was asleep but i felt awake. Flashes of mike spoke softly to me, then he began crying in that dream, i could not hear him clearly but he tried making me understand, all to no avail.
Suddenly i awoke, it felt like someone tapped me, i was shivering fiercely. I really prayed in my mind for mike that nothing has happened to him i was so scared that i stayed awake sitting all night till morning when i zoomed off to the hospital.
To my relief, Mike was alright...
I heaved a sigh of weary off my chest.
IT WAS TRULY A HORRIBLE NIGHT FOR ME.
