It is good to be among like minded
Supportive people you can engage with and who knows can trust and help out.
If you are new the only way to be noticed is reading as many different people as possible and leave a comment. I found that a strange thing to do to a stranger same for all those posts starting with: How are you. For sure you are well and so am I". These sentences make me leave and not return.
A few times I answered that questiin and a question at the end. It's rarely answered. Why ask if not interested? I believe it is just to have enough words.
To connect the best method is to comment and the comment contests. Next to that you should simply invite people/strangers. Many will not answer because notifications are not read, and a part never arrives but there is no other option if you like to grow.
As I was new I was on my own and mainly read. I also left twice because this is really a lonely place if you know no one. It's also not easy to find the information you like to read most.
I learned my lesson again in 2024 and know I am liked for the support but as soon as that is a passed station I am forgotten.
Since I like to write and have my peace I stay where I feel comfortable. Small communities where I mainly interact with the same people or I post in my community. Far away from moderator reports. I don't see any point in growing someone else's community with what I write (also a lesson experienced in 2024).
The only way to grow is show you are there.
There are nit just a few thoysands of accounts but many more and the active ones produce. Sime more than three times per day. If no one knows you it's a small chance to be noticed and if how big is the chance people will reoly to a comment?
Many votes are given and many accounts never vote. These are wasted votes. In my opinion everyone can grow, newcomers included, if we all would vote in our circle consequently or we all vote for different people. This topic is discussed in one if the #talkchannels
You know more than once I asked to join hands but in most cases there's no response. This leaves me with the question if I should upvote unmotivated people not willing to promote themselves, only complain and beg for votes. I ask you why should I
I have 2 accounts, 3 communities and grow their SP myself. Next to that I help out in 3 more. I believe I do more than my share, more than the owners of the community.
The ways to promote yourself are:
- commenting
- using the right hashtags for the first 4 (not steemexclusive)
- upvoting ( people can see who voted for them and there are still generous old school Steemians automatucally voting back).
If your name shows nowhere, you will not be remembered. It is not different from a commercial. The result? All votes go to the same people even if what they post isn't worth voting for.
I fully share your point of view. My experience on stemit also began alone. Initially, I felt isolated, the lack of feedback greatly reduced motivation. As a result, I decided to leave the resource. However, after some time, I learned about the formation of communities. This news inspired me greatly. The return brought results, although small, but I am satisfied.
Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:
