What if mermaid are not truly beautiful??

I Have seen lot of movies and listened to lot of tales that dispict the fact that mermaid are undoubtedly the most beautiful creature in the sea and on Earth.

BUT WHAT IF THEY ARE NOT TRULY BEAUTIFUL as we popularly believe??

Let me know what you feel about this.
Cos right now I am thinking otherwise due to some reasons best know to me!
