The theist among us regardless of their religious affiliations say their God is all loving, powerful, knowing and merciful.

An all loving, powerful, knowing and merciful God possesses an infinite, inestimable and incomparable love, power, knowledge and mercy that encompasses all living creatures and which no living creature can ever possess or surpass.

Given all these attributes of God it should be a simple task for God to make us all live in joy, regardless of our sins or transgressions (actual or imputed) and without any preconditions.

In fact, given such attributes even the word "sin" and much less the phrase "imputed sin" shouldn't exist in our vocabulary since every transgression would be condoned by God automatically without any reservations or precondition.

Many answers (more than 20) have been advanced by both the theologians and philosophers for this question.
