Small, Cute But The Deadly Predator "Salticidae"

Hello my dear Steemians!.

Salticidae (Jumping Spiders) are very special and unique insects. Of all the species, the Salticidae have a variety of facial shapes. I always say that I really like this animal because it has a funny behavior. Sometimes when I take pictures, a Salticidae can jump and perch on top of the camera and my shoulder seems to invite me to have an attraction with it. After that what can I do, I can only laugh in my heart to see his funny behavior.

This time I want to share a Salticidae which I think has a face that looks scary. His entire body is covered with very thick hair. Its face looks a little wider than the regular Salticidae, and it has a big jaw. This jaw is a deadly weapon for the Salticidae in hunting prey. Salticidae can easily catch insects even though they look bigger than their bodies.

Salticidae lifestyle is very different from ordinary spiders, a Salticidae is almost impossible to build webs other than those used in reproductive activities. When hunting for prey, jumping spiders also don't build webs but use their tethered silk to make it easier for them to reach hard-to-reach targets.

Wasps do not move against the Salticidae

Although the Salticidae have a small and cute body shape, these animals are tough and deadly predators. Salticidae are very consistent with their highly developed visual system. There is something unique about their hunting technique. In doing the hunt they do it in reverse of the rules that should be. There is a very surprising aspect, the Salticidae do not always follow a straight path. Sometimes they follow detours that pass through areas where prey cannot see. Such behavior seems to be a mystery that is difficult to solve even for entomologists.
