Hello, everyone. I hope all of you are fine and happy in your lives. Today, I will share with you the history of my native city, ** Chakwal **. Chakwal is known as the "Land of Soldiers" due to its strong tradition of military service. Here is my contest participation created by @damithudaya.

Chakwal is a city of Punjab province in Pakistan. We are deeply connected with our culture and the history of the potohar Plateau region. This area has a large history because of Pink salt. According to some historians, Pink Salt was discovered by Alexander the great. He passed through this region with their army. And their horse stops one place and he lip on the land. This is how pink salt was discovered.

Katas Raj Temple is the 2nd most famous place in chakwal. This is near to Pink salt mine. These ancient Hindu temples date back to the 6th century and are dedicated to the deity Shiva.

Malot Fort is another fort in Chakwal City. This was made during the hindu shahi dynasty. This is also known as Hindu and Muslim architecture. If you stand on this fort you will see the beautiful view of the salt range and nearest all the small villages. The most Beautiful view is when the sun sets and sun Rise time.

British Era and Independence Movement In min 19th century British Empire annexed Punjab including chakwal. They fight against the sikh empire. Mostly people from chakwal served in the British army and then this area became military contributions and continues now. Today chakwal has the largest number of military people in the Pakistani army.

In short chakwal is known as military heritage, beautiful land and historical landmarks. We love our culture and we welcome any new visitors.
