The Diary Game - Uncovering the Hidden Charm of Canaan Park, Sahiwal

I hope everyone is well and enjoying their lives. Today, I will tell you about the famous park in Sahiwal, popularly known as Picnic Park, but its real name is Canaan Park.

I had to go to Sahiwal because my work is about 25 to 30 kilometers away from us. After completing my work there, I went to my aunt's house and rested there for some time. Then the children there told me that we had to visit Canaan Park, so I said why not let's go. From there, we made up our minds and headed straight towards Canaan Park. In a short time, we reached Gate Number One of Canaan Park.

They have made a place outside to park motorcycles here so that motorcycles don't go inside and disturb people, so they parked our motorcycle outside the gate,e and then we entered Canaan Park through gate number one.

This park is used by people for exercise and picnics because its length is about 800 to 900 meters. People come here in the morning and evening for exercise, and the most important thing is that a large canal runs along one of its banks, which adds to its beauty.

As soon as we enter through gate number one, there is a canal on the right side, de and the other side is this entire park, ark, and in the middle is this beautiful road.

_{Open Air Gym}

An open-air gym has been built on the first ground when entering the gate for those who come here to exercise and want to keep themselves fit. There are various types of gym machines here, which are open-air, and children, elders, and youth exercise and keep themselves fit.

About four or five years ago, the government of Pakistan took this beautiful step in which they built these open-air gyms in various parks so that people could come out of their homes and exercise here, keep themselves fit,t and protect themselves from various diseases.

The government of Pakistan wants the youth of this country to progress and shine in this world concerning sports, so these gyms have been built for them so that they can keep themselves fit and focus on their sports.

As we move forward, we come across various grounds, on the sides of which chairs have been made for sitting and beautiful green grass has been grown, which adds to the beauty. Various types of flowers have been planted, which, when in full bloom, delight everyone with their fragrance.

Similarly, as we moved forward, we saw a beautiful architecture that was built about 10 to 15 feet high, with eight to nine steps leading up to i. after going up, they had installed stairs, and after going up, chairs were installed to sit on, beautifully designed, and a beautiful map was carved on its sides.

This is the best location for photography in the entire park, where people take their photographs with different cameras and enjoy it a lot. If you look, there are many families here who celebrate their picnic parties. This is a very popular and safe place for picnics.

A famous point has been made in the middle of this park where there is a beautiful pond, and a beautiful wooden bridge has been built over this pond. When we reach the center from over this bridge, we see different types of swings there, which are made for children. Their tickets are also displayed there. Children get a swing for 30 rupees at a time, and they can use it for 10 to 15 minutes. After using it, its time ends, and the child is taken off. Thus, the swing has a head of 30 rupees. And one of its famous things here is the boat, which is a paddle boat. People drive it with their feet themselves. Its fee is 80 rupees. Similarly, there is a motor boat, which charges 160 rupees to go around the entire pond.

We just thought that we would use a paddle boat because the other one is not much fun. We will drive it ourselves and take it. We will enjoy it more. So we bought three tickets from there. Because I had two children with me,e and one was with me, the three of us boarded the same boat. The way to operate the boat was simple. It has two paddles. Both of them have to paddle together. Then it will go forward. If there is a handle in the middle, if we move this handle forward, the boat turns to the right. If we move this handle backward, it goes to the left.

The three of us got into the one boat the three of us took turns paddling and went around the entire lake. During the round trip, we took various photographs in which we took pictures of the lake and also took pictures of our boat in which we were sitting, ing and while sitting in the boat, we took photographs of the swings in the middle, which were made beautifully. We enjoyed it the most.

One round of the boat was completed because we had paid the fee for a single round. After completing our round, we got off the boat and headed further from there to visit the entire park. The kids I was with really enjoyed the boat ride, but they weren't interested in taking the other swings, so we moved on.

As soon as we reached a little further, we saw three boards there where the history of this park was written, and according to this history, we got the knowledge that this park was built on November 25, 1947. Since then, it has been standing with the people,e, and people enjoy it a lot here. I hope that it has become much better now than before because it was a very old thing when it was built. Now, the government of Pakistan has worked hard on it and made it beautiful.

Apart from this, a special room was built here. The main purpose of this room was to keep Quranic pages or Islamic pages inside it. There are many such Holy Quran papers or manuscripts that are in pristine condition. We cannot throw them away, so they are collected in one place so that they can be kept in a safe place. This room was built for this reason so that we can preserve Islamic things while remaining in our Islam and protect them from disrespect.

Many people throw Quranic papers into the canal so that they move forward, but they do not know that the canal water seeps into the soil, and those papers are thrown into the soil in this way, which is a disgrace. Therefore, we should save them in such a place. This is a beautiful place in this park, which I would say is a very good step that has been taken to preserve our Islamic papers.

Similarly, a beautiful mosque has been built right in front of it so that if you have come to this park and it is time for prayer, you can offer prayers here in the congregation. Washrooms have been built next to this mosque, and an ablution room has also been built so that you can be given complete facilities and can offer your prayers on time.

As Muslims, wherever we go, we must follow our Islamic practices. Just as we have to pray five times a day, we are often out of the house, and it is time for prayer. That is why this mosque has been built so that if you are out of the house, in this park, and it is time for prayer, you should leave all your work and pray first, then get busy with worldly matters.

Regarding food, there is no good shop here, neither has it been built nor is it allowed to be built here because this is a picnic point where people come to have picnics. People prepare food from their homes and enjoy it here. Therefore, there is no shop here where you can get something to eat. But as an extra, two people were present here, one of whom was selling potato chips and the other was selling round cakes. They also asked the guard to bring their car inside temporarily, sell their things, and then go back again.

Wherever there is a pond, and people are boating, children also come there and enjoy themselves, so these diners were also standing there, selling their things.

_{Food For Birds}

Another great step taken by the park administration is that they have hung some pots near the trees. In these pots, food has been put for the birds. In one pot, food has been up,t and in the other, water has been kept. This is a great blessing for the birds during the summer season because in the summer, there is a severe shortage of water, and the birds are thirsty, so they come here to quench their thirst and eat food. This is an ongoing charity.

Apart from this, people also bring food for the birds here and put it in so that they can express their love for God's creation as servants of God. Therefore, they bring things for the birds and animals, they bring grains and give them.

As soon as we reached the other side of the park, we saw that there were houses of people on one side, and I would say that for the people of these houses, this park is more than a blessing because if they want to do their morning exercise or take their children to a ground to feed them, they bring them to this park and those people are very lucky. I have also seen there that the small children who are residents there are making and flying paper planes.

On the other hand, children were playing cricket on the ground, and they had created an atmosphere similar to their street cricket. They had built a brick wicket here and were playing in the ground. There are different grounds. Different people, young and old, play cricket here and keep themselves fit.

To further entertain the little ones, a small zoo has been built on the other side of the park, in which a few animals have been kept so that the little ones can enjoy seeing them. Just like when we go to a big park or a zoo, we see a lot of animals there because they are specially built for this purpose, but this is a picnic park, so only a few animals have been kept here, which are to please the little ones.

As soon as we arrived at this small zoo, we saw that the most beautiful peacocks were kept there, which were of two types: two were separate, and two were separate, and they each had their own identity. I don't know much about these animals, but they look very beautiful.

As I moved forward a little, there were three big forests here, inside which lived monkeys. Monkeys are very clever animals. People play various tricks with them here, but the monkeys win. If we give them something and they try to catch it and we pull it away, they get very angry. Then, if we give them that thing again, they don't catch it, but suddenly they attack us and snatch that thing from us and run away far away. Similarly, these animals are also very clever,r and people also give them bananas, bread, etc., and they perform various tricks. Sometimes, they climb up, they start swinging.

This was the last point of this park. You can see a second gate ahead of it. We did not enter through this gate because there was no place to park a motorcycle there. So we entered through gate number one. This is gate number two. If anyone wants to come on foot, they can come through here.

• This is Gate Number One, which is the famous point of Sahiwal, Jogi Chowk. From there, a big bridge runs, which ends directly at Pakpattan Chowk. But if we go from below this bridge, a canal flows away, and if we go towards the west along the canal, we see Gate Number One.

• If you want to come from Gate Number One, then you will have to take the main road of Sahiwal, which is called Railway Road, from where we will reach the railway station directly. When we turn left from the monument, we will see this park right on the banks of the canal.

• If we talk about the timing of this park, in winter, it opens at around 7 am because it is dark in winter at 6 am, if we talk about summer, it opens between 5:30 and 6 am and closes between 6 and 7 pm.

• This park does not have a special website or phone number; just visit here and enjoy.

• The most interesting thing is that there is no ticket for this park, there is no ticket to enter. We just enter here and enjoy the rest. Yes, we have to pay the ticket for the swings or the boat that is here, and apart from that, nothing disturbs us here. This is a small fee for the business people who have put up the swings here.
