Good day everyone! Welcome to Steemit "Engagement Challenge S3-W4: The Role of the Various Genders”. This week contest is really amazing and I can't wait to drop my own entry right away! Gender is what we all know and we also know that they have various roles in the society! Therefore, this is what we will discuss about in this post.

But before I proceed, I will like to list down the headings we are to write on in this contest:

• Does gender play a role in our everyday life?

• How does the role or function in your country differ from gender to gender?

• Is it the same for other countries?

• What about Steemit?

All the questions listed above are very very essential to answer because they dominate the earth.

Does gender play a role in our everyday life?

---

Yes, gender play a vital role in our society. We all know that we only have two kinds of gender existing in the world; A male gender and a female gender. The male gender are generally called Men while the female are called Women!

Even you reading this post now falls under one category, it's either you're a male or you're a female. I believe you already know that!

In our everyday life, we significantly see the roles of the various gender, ranging from their type of work to their responsibilities in the family! Actually, the roles of these gender cannot be fully overemphasized.

The male gender has their own role in the society while the female gender also has theirs right? Ok. Now these roles is deemed as natural existence, I believe you all know what I mean by that, but Incase if you don't know, what I mean is this; naturally, it is believed that all the hard works are done by the male gender while the female counterparts do the soft or no one atall!

Now this is what sparks the next question that will be discussed below.

How does the role or function in your country differ from gender to gender?

It is pertinent to answer this question to my own knowledge. This question is observable among different countries. My country is Nigeria and the roles of Male and Female differ in so many ways.

In Nigeria, the social constructions of gender roles are very different from what is seen in Western societies. The Nigerian culture places great emphasis on the role of women as wives and mothers. Men are expected to be providers and protectors, while women take care of the household.

For many years, this idea was reinforced by religion, which is now being challenged by a new generation of Nigerian women who are educated and ambitious.

The Nigerian society has been heavily influenced by religion, and for many people religion is the most important thing in their lives.

Is it the same for other countries?

Literally, I cannot precisely answer this question 100 percent because I have not been to other countries, but to my best of knowledge I will attempt it. Hope you understand? Ok let's dive right away!!

I will say that some roles are conventional while some are not. By conventional, I mean that some roles are the same for every country! For example, in every country including yours, it is believed that male gender is superior than the female gender and that men will do more tedious and engineering jobs than women.

Infact by virtue of nature, the roles of the genders are totally the same across countries. Men are superior to Women and the women are obliged to carryout the house chores duty as stipulated in my last answer above which include being wives and mothers.

What about Steemit?

On steemit platform, the role of the genders are totally same and equal. Taking some few examples; let's take a look at @ngoenyi and @patjwell at how they're thriving. They're female genders, yet they're putting in more hardwork. This is to show you that the roles of the genders are the same on Steemit platform!

There's nothing like; you're a man or you're a woman on steemit platform, every roles of every gender are the same respectively. Female are country reps, do promotion, curate contents and so on... as well as male genders here.
