Review of Year 2024 : My Achievements and Learnings.

2024 MY NEW JOB, MY NEW JOY.

INTRODUCTION

Reviewing what we achieved and could not achieve the previous year, is a good way to know if we made good efforts or not. If we made good efforts, we would be expecting to achieve what we laboured for. As it is often said, good efforts equals good success.

It is very painful to have put every effort required to achieve a target, but to no avail. But if we achieve the targets we set, then we would say that our efforts really paid off. So this means that When we look back at the previous year, there are things we could not achieve and there are things we should be grateful because we achieved them.

My review of 2024

2024 was really a tough year, but not really bad

Beginning the year 2024 was full of high expectation. There were quite a lot of dreams, visions, goals or targets that were set. Were all the set goals were achieved is a big question to ask. If they were achieved, what were the efforts made to make it possible?. If they were not achieved, what made them difficult or not achievable?.

For me, Beginning the year 2024 was quite challenging and not just for me alone, but to other average citizens in my country. The removal of fuel subsidy made the prices of goods and services to increase over 200%. Infact, givernment policies negatively impacted everyone. Some of the policies and programs of government that made the year 2024 extremely difficult include:

• The removal of fuel subsidy

• Increase in tax

• Increase of bills such as electricity bills, telecommunications, water, and tuition fees.

• Increase in food commodities

• Also, there massive lay-off by companies that can no longer pay their workers.

Consequently, the effects of these harsh policies made it difficult for me to remain in business. So I could not do business for the whole year of 2024.

The challenges I overcame and the lessons learnt

Going through how difficult the year 2024 was as I highlighted above, one would agree with me that from all indications, that year was really a tough year for many people including myself. Despite these challenges, I was able to overcome one particular challenge that confronted me that year. That challenge that confronted me in 2024 is unemployment.

Everyone would attest to the fact that, unemployment is one of the most disasterous challenges facing many nations of the world today. My country is battling with the ever increasing unemployment problems.

Every year, many graduates are coming out of the tertiary institutions without the hope that they would get jobs. Because of this, the labour market is increasing by the day.

But for me, the story has changed. I have now overcome this ugly challenge of unemployment as I was offered a job in one of the government establishment in the forth quarter of 2024. My joy now knows no bounds as I have conquered this challenge.

THE LESSONS LEARNT:
Having been visiting several establishments for some years with their promises of offering me a job which they did not, this taught me a great lesson. One biggest lesson it taught me is this: go to shool with the mindset of learning, not the mindset of getting a job' I would say that many of those who are in the higher institutions are just there with this mindset of getting a job immediately after graduation. I want to say that getting a job after graduation is not guaranteed except for those who are highly connected.

If you are not yet in school, learn a skill or go into business and then you can now start making moves to go to school. Or better still, find a way to do business while waiting for the scarce whitecollar job.

MY BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN 2024

My best achievement in 2024 is the job offer I got in the last quarter of 2024. For me, this is a landmark achievement because in the midst millions of unemplyed youths, I got an employment offer. So this is really a one in a million achievement.

THE IMPACT ON MY LIFE

Securing a job, I would now be able to use the knowlwdge and skills I have garthered so far, to execute the programs or plans of my organization.

Secondly, the payment from this job would enable me to take care of myself, relatives, and pay my bills.

This is how I overcame the challenges I faced in the year 2024 and lessons were also leant. I believe that by the grace of God, the year 2025 would be more better.
