My most amazing wildlife experience is with the deer.

INTRODUCTION

When you take out time to go into the forest or visit the zoo, you would have no option than to praise the wonders of the creators of the various animals found there. They are made of different sizes, colors, body structure, shape , reproduction and feeding methods. So there are lot of wild animals that one would never believe to be existing unless they are seen.

I have heard much about the deer, and so I had make out time and find a way to behold this amazing creature with its unique features. I was happy to see this creature even though I was some miles away.

THE AMAZING WILDLIFE CALLED DEER

The deer is one of the amazing wildlife that I have experienced. There are different of deers and so the name “deer," is the umbrella name under which this class of animal is identified. Deer is known to have what is known as chambered sectioned stomach. They have two small as well as two large hooves and antlers.
Deer is of the order of the artiodactyla coming from the family of Cerviae.

In the deer family, they categorised into two and namely:

• The old world Deer: This is reffered to as the cervinae.

MY WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE

Recently, I decided to accompany one of my friends who has some connections to a one particular zoo. As we moved in, I sighted this animal that has horns from afar off. Sooner than later, I discovered the animal was a deer. I stood still to carefuly observe the animal's behavior. Right there in the zoo, there other animals I saw like the elephant, Giraff, Tiger, python, and other animals that I could not get their names. Only the deer captured my interest. So I focused my interest looking at the deer.

Some deer are domisticated while others live in swamp areas. The domesticated ones are reserved in the zoo. The deer in the swamp are highly endangered and so they fall prey to carnivorous animals to sustain themselves.

I would like to start with the diets. Deers are herbivorous animals that their digestive system is such intricate. Their lips constantly shakes as their teeth is an intricate one with regular moving lips. They eat young and soft fibre grasses but are very selective of the ones they eat. They also eat aquatic plants, herbs, shoots, buds, and fruits that contains protains, low fiber and toxicity that are digestible.

The male and female deer have antlers. Old world male deer have upper canines which are sharp and long known as tusks. They use their tusks when trying to make a stab and slash on their prey.
The female deer have four teat but all deer do not have gall bladder, preputal gland, the rectal as well as the vulval.

The deer crave for protein, energy and mineral which are needed for the growth the antlers. The antlers grow before the reproductive period and they use it for for defense during their courting.
The bigger deers consume more nutrients and needs more energy than in order to grow their antlers. On the other hand, the smaller deers less of the nutrients and energy. They do not get this kind of nutrient from grasses but rather, they get it from rich nutritious flowering plants.

As I finalise my writing, I begin to think what if some animals were not reserved? We may just have ended up hearing their names but not coming to a close contact to see them. Most animals especially wildlife, are fast going to extinction. This is because of human activities like hunting down the animals for various reasons.

When it comes to protecting nature and wildlife, the zoo is a better place for it. In the zoo, various species of wildlife could be reserved. So many species of animals could no longer be found because of uncontrolled hunting or animal games. This calls for the few and reserved ones to be well taken care of in order to protect them from extinction.

Furthermore, there should be establishment of more zoo or game reserves. In my country for instance, the only zoo or game reserves are the few that were established by the colonial masters. Since then, no other animal reserves are established.

Finally, there should be laws put in place to ensure controlled hunting or animal gaming. This would help to checkmate unlawful hunting by people. By this, our wildlife would be protected.
