Recovery? Part 3

Recovery is a very Strange Title for what was about to Happen?

So my 3 year old Son Geils, ( named after the J.Geils Band) and I get into Chris's Black 1300 Volkswagen Beetle. to head for Witpoortjie Station for me to go to the Dentist , and for him to have his first ride on a Train!

I can now Drive awkwardly, using my right hand to change gear , while steadying the steering wheel with my left hand before again steering with my right arm.

It is a particularly Hot Day , and as I get close to the Station with a very excited 3 year Old , I decide to park under Trees ,other side of the Lower Main Reef Road from the Station Parking , where there is no shade!

As I park under the Tree, a Train comes into the Station, I hear a shout of " Chooka Train!" and my little Boy jumps out of the Car, and runs straight in to the Road?, while i am still stumbling to get out of the Car!

I see his little body go flying through the air and then another car hits Him!

I stumble into the road and stare down at his Body, I see blood pumping out under his left eye , and then it stops, I remember saying , Please God let him live?

I see Blood starting to flow again.

A Guy came running up and I punched him right out of the Road, another Guy came running, and said:-

"I am a Paramedic, please don't hit me?"

This had become a six car pileup, this was before cell-phones and someone who worked for My Dad , saw the accident , had a Car Radio phone and contacted My Dad and told him " Your Son and your Grandson have just been in an accident!"

My Dad phoned Chris ,who went into Panic Mode , and went to collect her.

Meanwhile, the Paramedic picked up Geils, put him on my Lap and rushed us off to Paardekraal Hospital in Krugersdorp, where I was probably becoming a familiar sight?

My Dad gave Geils a Priesthood blessing, they rushed him into theatre , cut him from his breastbone down to his Groin , and other than bad bruising to his Internal Organs, and a cut under the left eye , from which the Blood had been flowing, he was not seriously injured!

Another Miracle , we were really lucky and blessed!

What I never mentioned , is any time I wanted to take Geils out it always had to be explained to him, when he would see his Mom again? The only reason he had gone with me , was because of the Train Ride!

Every Day we would go see him at visiting hours, and when we left in the Afternoon , you could hear him wailing "Mommy" far down the corridors.

Needless to say, after my Far too Eventful recent Life Happenings at that Stage, that it was probably time for me to go back to Church?
