When Growing up, I did appear as the only child to my parents at that time, but though I was never lonely. I do spent most of my precious ๐Ÿ’ž time with my amazing cousins, who so became like siblings to me with no difference. We all lived in our small village called "Nkwot Edem Edet" where the air atmosphere was fresh, and too the trees were all tall.

I vividly remember always running through the fields with my dear cousins especially when the Abatai's came visiting our Grandmother, Abatai here is the first son/child to our granny and each time we're full, laughter echoes through the hills. Those definitely were the best precious days of my life, filled with creative adventure in building mud houses, crafted motor with bamboo stick and many more happiness.

โœ… Did you enjoy your childhood?

Dear Steemians! Definitely I did. Even though then I was the only child, but I never at all felt alone. My extended cousins were always around me, either dragging food, clothes or playing materials and we do shared countless joyful moments together. We always played hide and seek in the evening when the mood is out, climbed the trees in the farm, and also do made up stories about imaginary lands.

  • The very bond I did had with my cousins was so strong, and it really made my childhood much special. The dear village life, with its amazing simplicity and the closeness to nature, really added to the joy of those very early years. But now we only discussed it as history and reminder ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ when we're back mostly during Christmas.

โœ… What is the first childhood memory?

The one very profound earliest memories of mine I could recall is during my five years old of age. It certainly was a bright sunny day, and then my cousins and I decided to go on an adventure in a nearby bush. The aim was to get leaves for our livestock (Goat ๐Ÿ) to eat. But why looking for this greeny fresh leaves to cut, I was the smallest one and my duty was to packed the cut leaves together in one place. So while waiting behind my eldest cousin back to get it immediately he finished cutting, I received a knock at my fore face and it was the machete.

He mistakenly hit me while raising the curved machete up to cut while I was standing at his back. A lot of blood flow but they immediately ran inside the bush get some leaves and squeeze them together to get some liquid out and pour on my injury ๐Ÿค•. It really hurt but was helpful and today I still have that #mark of cut on my fore face*, it's more like a lifetime. After this incidence was the time I truly felt the thrill of adventure and the joy of definitely being surrounded by loved ones.

โœ… Did you have a lot of friends when you were young?

My friends were not that many, but I really had a few good friends then. Most of my very friends were from the school and, of course, my own cousins from both my own mother's and father's sides. We would always gather to play after the school, sharing of toys and stories, even going to children choir rehearsal. While my own circle was small, the genuine friendships I had were so meaningful, and valuably they made my own childhood so enjoyable.

โœ…Do you think it is better for children to grow up in cities or villages?

At this point I'll say It all depends. Both the cities and villages have their very own advantages and the disadvantages. I did grew up in the village for my first seven years of life, much surrounded by the nature and simplicity were we explore so many insightful things like mud houses, bamboo motor, hide and seek and the rest.
But Later, my parents did moved to a city where my father works, where life was so faster and more much modern. Each very place had its amazing and unique charm, and I really believe both experiences did shaped who I am today. In the village then, I really learned to appreciate the little things I had, like the beauty of the nature and the joy of a simple living. While In the city, I did discovered new opportunities, way of living and a different way of exploration totally. so both are significant.

  • I'm so much happy with my childhood experience and do cherish each time I remember how I harness it till date. I so appreciate the people around me that really makes things easier for me that I didn't feel lonely at all. Now that I have my own siblings we all play together and continue making memories.

I'm inviting @onomzy001, @rossnenye and @emmaprince to rely with us their childhood memories.
