Hygiene today is on the high today although many have disregarded it with the saying, Disease no fit kill me. Many have died because of lack of personal hygiene. Why is this so? How and what is personal hygiene? This would be deliberated in this post

Hygiene can be refer to practices conditions that promote and maintain good health and cleanliness. It involves behavior's and habit that helps prevent the spread of disease and the maintenance of personal well being. Examples of hygiene include regular hands washing,proper sanitation, dental Care, bathing, and cleanliness in living space. Hygiene is essential for preventing the transmission of pathogens and ensuring overall health and well being.

Hygiene can be categorise into several types, including ÷
Personal hygiene;
a.) Personal hygiene this involves practice to maintain cleanliness and health of one body such as bathing, brushing teeth, washing hands, and wearing clean clothes.

b.) Oral hygiene this is to focus on maintaining the health of the mouth and teeth through brushing, flossing, and regular dental check.
Food hygiene;
c.) Food hygiene this involves proper handling. Storage, preparation of food prevent food borne illness.
Environmental hygiene;
d.) Environmental hygiene; ensure cleanliness and sanitation in the surrounding, including home and workplace, to prevent the spread of diseases.
Hand hygiene;
e.) Hand hygiene; Emphasizes the importance of washing hands with soap and water to prevent transmission of germ and diseases.
Mental hygiene;
f.) Mental hygiene this can also involve practice of strategies is to maintain good health including stress management and seeking support when needed.
Respiratory hygiene;
g.) Respiratory hygiene: these include measure like covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing to prevent the spread of respiratory infection etc.
The various type of hygiene are essential for promoting overall health and preventing date spread of diseases.
How do we maintain good hygiene
Maintaining good hygiene includes many things and several practices which are hand washing, oral hygiene, bathing, nails care, hair care, clothing, face care, food handling, personal items and hand sanitizer etc. Remember that good hygiene not only contribute to your personal well-being but also helps you to prevent the spread of infection and disease from others.
