My top 5 artists are gospel artists whose songs have had positive influence on me. Their songs lift my spirit especially when I'm down. I listen to these songs Everytime I have the chance to. These songs are all gospel songs.

5. Udeme by Mercy Chinwo

I love and choose these music because it is filled with wordings which edify my soul. They feed my soul. Normally, the song you listen to most time comes up in your subconsciousness, even in your dreams, I find myself singing these songs even in my dream which helps my spiritual and physical life. I forget some issues of life when singing or listening to these songs as I dance happily to it. These songs increase my faith in God and can even lead to healings depending on the faith. The reason why God created me is for me to praise Him, and I find myself effortlessly doing so with these songs, no wonder the Psalmist, David never stopped singing and praising God. I know 70 percent of the lyrics of each song but I believe with time, I will get to know all.

In 'Thank you Lord' by Don Moen, he starts by quoting the Bible, 'The Bible says it is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord. Then he says, 'there is just one thing that i want to say, thank you Lord'. And he lists the different things God has done, like taking away darkness and giving light, taking away sin and shame, taking away sickness and healing all pains. What makes this song unique is that in almost all stanzas, thanking God is repeated. Singing this song makes me appreciate God for all he has done for me.

The song 'Udeme' by Mercy Chinwo starts with exclamation which draws attention, 'Ah-ah-ah Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh'. Tho the song is sung in the Ibibio language of Nigeria, the interpretation says that God's love is abundant in me, powerful God, you have done more than enough, mighty God, thank you. And she goes on to thank God in other ways God has been good. This is another song of praise.

The song 'Rejoice' by Spinach is one powerful song that can even lift one out of depression. There is no way you listen to it that you won't stand and dance. It goes this: 'I'm gonna dance and praise him, it doesn't matter what comes my way, the greater one lives inside of me, His name is Jesus I'm born a winner, more than victorious, I'm a heir of His kingdom filled with the Holy Ghost'. This song makes me know that no matter what comes my way, I should continue praising God because through it, my victory is sure. It says that as long as God is with me, I'm more than a conqueror. I listen to these music every morning on my way to work. Sometimes I listen to it at night before sleeping, that way, in my subconsciousness, I'll still be hearing it. I listen to it too while cleaning up the house and even when bathing. It has become part of me.
