A simple question that it is yet it makes majority of writers define it like others; all under once scope.

Beginning from the definition of the Oxford dictionary; it defines consistency as the quality of always behaving in the same way or of having the same opinions or standard.

This is a widely accepted definition to the term "consistency". But there is no doubt that the words of the dictionary are mere annotations which gives room for additional meaning to be added to the definition of a word or a word for clarity especially for words like "consistency" which would be dealt with.

In terms of goals achievements or vision entitlement, consistency is now defined as the act of always implementing what you do or simply showing up for that which you do thereby having what to show. This is quite simple to use and act out for you to be termed as being consistent but there is always a common misconception on how to be consistent.

WHAT IS THE COMMON MISCONCEPTION OF CONSISTENCY?

As a writer, you might one way or the other be discreeted to be writing daily to show your spirit of consistency or you were told weekly. This believe is carried in our minds as this seems to happen at the beginner stage causing lack of growth and quick tiredness.

But this is somewhat wrong. Consistency has more to do with actively posting , showing up and spamming your followers/readers news feed. Most of us define and measure consistency with "quantity" and not "quality". It can be a good way to tell yourself that you have been on track but this still leads most people to astray when it comes to personal development and growth.

Here is what consistency should be measured with:

• Improvement and productivity: For one to be able to show his/her consistencies on a subject matter improvement stands out to be the landmark and this cannot be enhanced by multiple posts without a difference in language, grammar and even style.

With the majority believing in quantity than quality, there would be no room for improvement. Here's why: If you're rate of showing up has no much distancing between your previous and present posts you lack the ability to point out and rightly journal your writing process.

As a writer you should be able to give yourself time to note than your errors and perfect on them. Quantity should not be aimed for at first but with quality posts you would definitely have that number of posts you have always wanted to and also note than your errors. So it's a win-win for you.

More time added to the period you decide can also be detrimental to your growth. As the Oxford dictionary clearly states:

The word same should be taken into major consideration. Measure up yourself and do the best to show for your consistency.

Nevertheless, anything worth doing is worth doing well; this can only be matched to quality and not quantity. Take your time and give yourself more time to analyse and continue.
