Tennis Elbow

Hello, it's great to be back participating in Week Two, and I hope to learn and do my best in my participation posts. It seems that, of all the tasks given, master @ashkhan wants the participants to be able to answer these tasks effectively and get to the heart of the task, and I tried to do just that this week.

Here is my homework assignment :

What's tennis elbow? Write in your own words after getting knowledge from the lesson post. (Note: don't add special tests or investigations in this question. Write the answer precisely).

After I studied based on the lesson posts in this second week, I found Tennis Elbow or lateral epicondylitis.

From the explanation above it is explained that. Tennis Elbow is a condition in which pain and inflammation occur on the lateral side of a person's elbow. Mainly involving those that occur in the lateral epicondylus (a bony protrusion that is on the outer side of the elbow), as the name suggests, lateral epicondylitis can affect the lateral epicondylus itself.

How would you diagnose a tennis elbow? Any clinical investigation or assessment tests?

Referring to the lesson post that I read and learned, diagnosing tennis elbow, or what is called lateral epicondylitis, can be done in two ways or methods. Here are these ways :

  1. Family history, profession, past medical history, and surgical history.
  2. A thorough physical examination by a doctor or physical therapist.
  3. X-rays, ultrasound, and MRI to assess fractures, arthritis, and muscle or tendon ruptures, respectively.

Another way is to do special tests, namely using physiotherapy with several techniques. Some specific test techniques to help confirm the diagnosis are :

  1. Tes Cozen
  2. Factory Test
  3. The Maudsley Test
  4. Retained wrist extension test
  5. Middle Finger Test

There are many ways to diagnose Tennis Elbow, also known as lateral epicondylitis.

Try to practice at least 3 exercises that you have learned from the lesson. Share images, gifs or videos while practicing preferably gifs or videos.

Share your review after performing these exercises either on yourself, healthy individual or patient.

Honestly, after doing all the movements of the physical therapy intervention for the tennis elbow, I felt a sense of comfort and relaxation in the area of the fingers up to the elbow of my hand. This feels like relaxation that makes the tissues in the hand muscles to the elbow feel more comfortable, pull when doing grips, or also folds on the fingers, making the comfort feel up to the elbow of the hand.

In essence, all of these movements have an effect and impact on my hands, especially the forearm and elbow area of the hand.

That's all my simple posts on the occasion today, hopefully, this is useful and gets satisfactory results. I invite @elagusella, @miftahulrizky, and @josepha to participate, best regards to all of you.

You have done well and unlike what you have done. Thanks for the invite and good luck to you.
