Minggu yang lalu saya mencoba membeli buah pepaya di sebuah lapak pedagang buah yang berada di jalan Pandegiling, Surabaya. Di sana banyak cukup banyak bermacam-macam buah yang dijual, tapi yang menarik adalah strategi penjualan yang dilakukan oleh pedagang buah itu.
Last week I tried to buy papaya at a fruit vendor's stall on Pandegiling Street, Surabaya. There are quite a lot of various kinds of fruit for sale, but what is interesting is the sales strategy used by the fruit sellers.
Pedagang buah itu memasang harga dengan tulisan besar di atas kertas kardus, harga yang ditampilkan memang relatif murah tapi jangan salah di samping tulisan itu ada tulisan kecil ½, yang dimaksudkan itu adalah harga per setengah kilogram.
The fruit seller posted the price in large writing on cardboard, the price shown was relatively cheap but make no mistake, next to the writing there was small writing ½, which meant the price per half kilogram.
Strategi penjualan yang dipakai oleh pedagang itu memang cukup efektif dan memang menarik orang untuk membeli buah dagangannya. Orang yang tidak tertarik untuk berhenti di lapak ini bisa jadi akhirnya bersedia mampir karena "pancingan" tulisan harga yang ada di atas kardus tersebut. (hpx)
The sales strategy used by the trader is quite effective and indeed attracts people to buy the fruit they sell. People who are not interested in stopping at this stall may end up being willing to stop by because of the "lure" of the price written on the cardboard. (hpx)
