My Gist Diary; "Teaching Two Steemians How To Drive A Car"

Hello friends, how are you doing? I hope you are great. I desired to write you, but my circumstances didn't permit me. I am glad to write you today. On Tuesday, 28 January 2025, I taught two Steemians how to drive a car. Let me tell you how it began.

There's a Steemian among us who has been longing to drive her car, but she couldn't because there was no one to teach her; her husband has had a very busy schedule. Hence he seldomly taught her how to drive. As a result, before they could have had another class session, she might have forgotten what she learned previously. She needed someone who would give that consistent, practical lecture; as such, she didn't opt for driving school.

Two days to this day, I received a call from her husband who asked if I could help teach his wife how to drive a car; I accepted to help. Therefore I fixed a learning session with her on Tuesday.

Upon getting to her house, I calmed her by telling her with the signal of a car learner on the back and frontage of the car she was about to drive, every other driver who was to pass her by would do so cautiously, that she didn't have anything to be afraid of, but should rather focus on her driving.

The next lecture was telling her to check her side mirrors and the inner mirror to ascertain if she has a proper sight, which she did. I then advised her to fasten her sit belt, which she did.

I taught her how to start the engine of the car, and she perfectly did so. Then I taught her about the acronyms on the gear selector, which all stand for something, that D is for drive, R is for reverse, etc. She quickly comprehended the gear selection aspect of the lecture. It was then time for her to drive.

She drove a few meters away, and during the process, I closely guided her on how to control the car, and how to overtake cars on the road. And as we passed road signs, I explained the meaning of those signs to her. She learned how to turn around and U-turn. After hours of driving To and fro, she was tired. It was time for her son to also learn.

He received the training the same as his mother and drove for about the same period. From what I saw, they are quick learners and will know how to drive very well within three months.
