The prevalence of Covid-19 cases continues to grow and I as a health worker who is on the front line in handling Covid-19 continue to work to anticipate this, one form of activity that we carry out is by providing full-time vaccination services, despite the level of public awareness of the importance vaccine is still very low.

Yesterday we were visited by many students from high school, the exact number reached 70 people, they were aged between 16 to 18 years, I as part of the team conducted several short interviews related to vaccination, they generally understood the importance of vaccines as immunity of the body.

However, there are some students who want to get vaccinated but do not get the consent of their parents/guardians. We do not serve cases like this because vaccination services for sailors are based on a letter of approval from their parents, this is done to anticipate Adverse Events after Vaccination.

There were several previous cases regarding vaccination, where external factors forced them to vaccinate, the result was that health workers became victims due to the events that followed. In March 2021, when health workers received a circular to immediately get the Sinovac vaccine, and one of the cases of officers who had a history of spinal cord constriction, the person concerned had dropped for a few days and had to receive intensive care at the hospital.

The local government had put pressure on us health officers and considered it urgent and did not carry out proper health screening. This is a valuable lesson and becomes a reference in carrying out their duties and obligations as health pioneer during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The photo above shows students who are receiving COVID-19 vaccinations and many of them fail to get vaccinated due to the non-integration of population data, so the data from their IDs is not integrated with the pedulilindungi.id website.

This incident had delayed their getting vaccinated so I had to coordinate with the Population Service to find common ground for the problems that occurred. Today I received news that their ID was not registered so I had to send a copy of the Letter/ ID to them for immediate action.

Hopefully this pandemic continues to pass and can live a normal life as usual.
