Lesson 4 : Enabling Steem Keychain in Google Chrome

After 2 months ago I released Lesson 3 about Science | Making a Simple Electrolyte Test Equipment, In the midst of my busy life in the real world, today I'm releasing lesson 4 about using the Steem Keychain extension on Google Chrome.

What is the function of Steem Keychain?

I'm sure some of the steemit platform users have understood in detail about the function and purpose of using the Steem Keychain extension in their browser, but this article I wrote is just sharing and as an effort to re-promote Steem Keychain as a good extension for steemians to use.

By operating multiple accounts (personal account, community curation account or Community Curation Team) in one browser on the same device, it will be possible to make a lot of mistakes because you forget to log out after operating the account, finally posts that are about to be released using a personal account, are published using the curation account community.

I had this incident some time ago when I was a Community Curation Team (SC05). At that time, on the first day of joining the 05 Curation Team, I made 1 mistake as a result of not checking the active account that I was operating again. I gave 100% of the SC05 votes to a user account, I was surprised when I saw the curation value reached $ 8, then I entered my profile, apparently I'm still active on the SC05 account.

Based on this experience, I finally took the initiative to use the Steem Key Chain Extension as a security, so that every activity I do must give prior approval.

How to get Steem Keychain?

To activate the Steem Keychain first you have installed a browser that supports the Steem Keychain extension, I recommend Google Chrome as a browser that must be installed on your device. because I use a Macbook, my laptop only has free software facilities in the form of the Google Chrome Browser, while for Mozilla Firefox you have to pay first.

Following are the steps to enable the Steem Keychain Extension in Google Chrome:

The first step that needs to be done is to open Google Chrome and type Steem Key Chain in the search field.

After selecting one of the available links like the image I gave in the red column, you will enter the chrome extension, then press add to chrome.

Enter the Steemit username and Private Posting Key that you have, pay attention that you have correctly filled in the Private Posting Key, then press import key like the image I uploaded.

After successfully importing the key from your steemit account, you will see a display like the image below.

The two pictures above show that I have reopened Google Chrome by filling in my username and ticking `use key extension and keep me logged in, then pressing the login button.
After pressing login, the image next to it shows a confirmation request from the steem key chain extension. Press the confirmation button and your account is successfully integrated with the Steem Key Chain.

Below is the activity that I did after installing the Steem Keychain extension, using the video that I converted to a gif I show directly how the extension works, I give an example of wanting to give 100% vote to the Indonesian Steem Account, when pressing upvote, Steem Keychain immediately responds to approve the activity that I do by pressing the confirmation button.
