Weekly Reflections #30: What makes a place feel like Home?

I bring greetings to all the friends and members of this community. A special applause to @damithudaya the organizer of this amazing contest.

Nature has made it possible for humans and other creatures to live and reside in different places around the world. Nevertheless, no matter where we find ourselves, there is always that special place that we dream of going back to. In some cases, we dream and hope to go back to that special place not because it is more beautiful than where we are today but rather, it is due to the feelings of comfort and stability that we find in that particular place. We can refer to such a place as home.

By definition, we can say that a home is that special place that gives us the sense of belongings, comfort, support, happiness, and stability. In a place called home, there is no storm, violence, betrayal, and sadness. And even if life comes with challenges, the environment called home never lets you to face it alone. Because in a home, there are backup's to stand with you both in good and bad days.

While some people view home as a structure or as a building, I consider it as just an environment that provides you with a positive feelings. In a home, we have parent's, brothers, sisters, good friends, lovers, and good wishers. But remember, if the above mentioned categories of people are present in a place, yet you don't find comfort and support from them, then I still don't call it a home because, a home must be a place of happy living.

We need to understand that there is a house, and there is a home. They are two different things. A house is just a building with a roof, while a home is an environment that you can always run to in search of comfort and sense of belongings. I stand to be corrected.
