Weekly Reflections #22: Christmas Traditions Around the World

What does Christmas mean to you and your family?

To my family, Christmas means the celebration of Love in my family and community as a whole. It is a day when we come together as one big family to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in a lovely and kind way. In my family, we value the season of Christmas and we use the opportunity and extend our love to our host community, support those in need, and provide for the needy.

How do you and your family celebrate Christmas?

In my family, we celebrate Christmas by extending our love to others parents usually buy gifts, drink cook food, and share with our neighbors and friends. What we normally do on Christmas day, is go to church, whiandter church we will then gather and take family pictures before reaching home. While at home there are surplus foods and drinks for us to each with loved ones and friends.

Towards the evening hour of the day, my dad would then take us out to a restaurant or a recreational center for us to have fun. Last Christmas, we went to a carnival and other busy places in my town and celebrated Christmas.

Are the any special decorations, foods, or customs?

Yes, there are special decorations, foods, and customs. During Christmas, we prepare different varieties of foods for us and our guests to eat. As for our home, we decorate our home with balloons, Christmas trees, and light from the entrance of our house to the inside of our house both rooms and parlor.

What are your favorite memories from past Christmas celebrations?

My favorite memories from past Christmas celebrations are:

• The memories of the time I spent with my siblings at home.

• The memories of the time we all went out to a Christmas carnival which I won a gift and was awarded thean of the day.

• The memories of the time I spent with my friends.

• The memories of the time I got tired of eating meat and taking drinks.
