Hi guys, this is an official welcome to the 2023 part of the teens team series being the first for the year by me your anchor @kay-owobia. It's a double pleasure to meet with you in our series today. And this particular topic will be in two parts. Part 1 and 2. Sit tight and strap your buckles while I shake a table.

Hold on, you noticed something? what? my topic?

smiles, you read it right -"love and relationship". Wait, you never thought I would talk about that?

c'mon, remember it's teens and youngsters were talking about here and that is inevitably of concern to them.
That doesn't mean I'm here to tell you how a 20 year old should treat his 15 year old girl friend or how a 17 year old girl should be loyal to her 19 year old boy friend. Nahh....❌

We are here to talk about the kind of love and relationships you should build.

According to merriem Webster

love is the affection based on admiration, benevolence or common interests.

yeahh, there's more to loving not just some romantic thing that exists between two people. Having one another's interest matters and that's what makes you admire each other or have an attachment to them.

In what ways can I show love?

There are different ways we to show love. look around you, do you see an elderly woman struggling to carry a basket of groceries or a kid trying to cross a road?
in those cases I trust you know just how to show love. Doing so will help you build good relationships with others.
The little help and assistance you show goes a long way to demonstrate love and kindness. Don't wait until there's something to gain from it. Show love at all times.

But how about Romantic love?

When you have a romantic attachment to someone. Automatically, you have established a relationship. But what's a relationship without goals and ingenuity?
In that case, we will be considering 3 questions with regards to romantic relationships.

• Am I ready to date?
• Is online dating bad?
• Why am I dating?

Have you ever asked yourself that?
then it's a clear indication you are not.😑
But there may be an exception;😊
passing the bloom of youth
heard that before?
Probably not.

This is the best time of youth. The time of a period of time during which a person is normally in a particular life state....

This usually is a time where you are most likely unable to control your feelings. It is believed to be a range of time from infancy to 21 years of age.
Most decisions and actions you take are results from youthful exuberance.
Are you above the bloom of youth?
If your answer is a loud and clear Yes only then can you have a positive answer to the question above.

Still, you may be past the bloom of youth but not still prepared to date, why?

Because you need to measure yourself mentally, physically, emotionally and otherwise before taking a step.
Don't be led blindly into the unknown

You may have all that but how about financially? Especially to guys, do you see yourself financially buoyant enough to take on that step?
Of course you should know the cost. But, are you ready?
Take a deep breathe and give a strong meditation to that.

Is online dating bad?🙃

This usually sounds funny to me though, but lets head on to a proper understanding of it.

Online dating is usually through social media or some dating app where people get to connect, talk and make a match.

Having such relation with someone you have never known or seen could be really risky. what if the person isn't who he/she really is, Or they have some physical features you wouldn't desire in reality but are often covered in the shade of edited pictures.

What if that's your partner is hiding his/her true behavior in the online mood.
Though they are lots to this, I am not a relationship counsellor. In as much as I can share with you my little knowledge about this, i can't possibly take decisions for you

Why am I dating?

yes, why date at the first place?
Over the years I have learnt that dating is supposed to be for those ready to marry. Are you?
If you ain't, then why?
It's more like a child playing with toys and dumps them later.
Hearts and emotions are not toys so don't treat them like one.
Do the right thing at the right time. Ignoring this litte advice can make you hurt yourself, put you and those you want in a critical condition. But far be it from us.

Moreover, are you sure it's love or infatuation?

Yes, there's love and infatuation. Here's the difference; We did define love earlier right? Lets get to understand the latter.

Infatuation is everywhere and can be very dangerous. Again, don't be led blindly into the unknown.

Infatuation is defined by merriem Webster as "foolish love."

Foolish or obsessive love is only but as it is, foolish It's like a big pit dug and half covered in feathers. Obviously, only the foolish would fall into it.

Dear youngsters, you are young, your bloom of youth is soon to pass. Be mature, you still have more time. It's better you take your time, adapt to self discipline and choose wisely than rush to a course you might be unable to finish because all that glitters is not gold.

Just a little reminder before wrapping up the series. A well known man in history made mention of many from bible times with exceptional qualities, he said

-David was known for his great victory
-King Solomon for his knowledge
-Saul for his humility
-pharoah for his power
-But joseph for discipline.
No matter how much power, influence, humility, knowledge and whatsoever. You need self discipline.

Be the joseph in our day in whatever way you can. Discipline is not bought, it is cultivated and it comes with lasting happiness so, be wise.
