I trust that all of you are in good health.So today I am going to tell you about another beautiful waterfall in Sri Lanka that I visited recently. The peculiarity is that I have been thinking of visiting this waterfall for a long time.
Bomburu Falls is a waterfall located in Uva Paranagama Regional Secretariat Division. This is also known as Peravella. Located 15km from Welimada on the border of Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts, this is the widest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It is 50m high and 20m wide.
The main tributary of the Mahaweli river, Dulgala river, is formed by falling into 4 parts from a rock formation on the slope of the 1842m high Kotakitul mountain. This tributary is also known as Uma Oya in the area below the falls.
There is a beautiful story behind the name of this waterfall. King Rajasingha II's elephant was chained and ran wild. No one could catch the elephant. Elephant catching was made famous by the king.. The king said that the person who caught the elephant would also be given a village. A person named Wanasingha Mutta who was in this area caught an elephant and tied it to the root of a bo tree. Legend has it that after Bomule and then Bombure Unu, "Marg Thani" village was developed from Welimada to become popular in the country and named it as Bomburu Ella.
There are buses from Welimada to Bomburu Falls to visit the falls and private vehicles can also reach the falls. The waterfall is about 500m from the parking lot. Several small waterfalls can be seen above and below this waterfall.
As a foreigner you have to buy a ticket of LKR 700/=(5.88 Steem) to visit the waterfall.

Amazing place to be in, So @kusal you paid about 5.88 steem to watch the waterfall it simply shows your love for nature, I have seen a waterfall physical only on Tvs and picture, I wish to be in amazing places like this. We have waterfall in one state in my country but to go there is quite expensive because of inflation in prices of fuel which has caused an increase in transportation fare. I would have love to witness waterfalls too. Goodluck friend
