What is Steem?

Steem for me is one of the best cryptocurrency in existence because it functions on the proof of stake mechanism and is gradually becoming one of the highest crytocurrencies on the exchange market. This token was created by Dan Larimer and he made something beautiful to make it run as a social platform where members can invest in steem or earn steem by posting quality and no plagiarized content.

Steem can be invested, and on the Steemit platform, we call that method of investment POWER UP. This is a process where an individual has steem and decides to invest as a shareholder by powering up. This powered up steem still remains his own but it is now in the form of influence, since steemit works on the PoS mechanism. This will mean that the higher the Steem Power, the higher the influence on the Steemit Blockchain.

I remember last year in the month of march and April, Steem hit a value of $1.4 as you can see below.

My Power Up

Before Power Up

Before i powered up, i had a total of 78.894 Steem available for power up and i had a total of 2762.939 SP. So i decided to power up everything i had as investment. And so i clicked on the down arrow and selected power up

During Power Up

Here after i clicked on the power up option, i selected the amount i wanted to power up and clicked on ok then another window opened for me to confirm the information i just inputted. And after which i clicked confirmed by clicking OK

After all that process, i was shown another window and this time, my SP changed from 2762.939 to 2841.833 SP. I'm happy to have powered up all my earnings for the past 3 weeks and I'm hoping to power up more.
