"Gardening Challenge - `My Activities in Planting Vegetable an Fruit in my Garden".

Introduction

I love cultivating crops and maintaining my Garden, agricultural activities are very important, they help in providing food and vegetables. In my garden, I grow many crops for my consumption for this contest, I shall be sharing with you the steps I do follow to cultivate crops.

Publish your simple plantation system

I love planting and growing vegetation around the garden in my house, vegetation help give freshness, and trees planted give ventilation to the house.

I also plant fruit because I love eating fruit grown in my garden, it tastes sweeter but above all, I just grow a ton around my environment and also keep myself busy doing that.

I am going to outline some plants I grow in my garden:

PAWPAW

Pawpaw is a very nutritious fruit which is scientifically called Carica papaya is rich in vitamin C, Magnesium, and also vitamin C among others. It is the simple fruit I love cultivating in my garden because its roots those not grow big and expand to affect the building.

Banana

Banana also known as Musa acuminata sp a crop I also cultivate in my garden, grows fast with smaller one germinating beneath them, and after cultivating and harvesting, I cut the one I harvest and allow the smaller one to grow. Banana is a fruit that is very good for the body and recommended to be taken after every meal.

Tomatoes.

Tomatoes are good vegetables that we use in almost all the meals we prepare, I grow this veritable in the garden and I love fresh tomatoes more than processed ones to prepare my meals.

Aloe-vera

The Aloe-vera can be used for different purposes, people sometimes usually come to the house to get aloe vera to use. But I use it to Wash my hair and for many other reasons like preparing herbs and medicine.

I also plant other vegetables like a bitter leaf, spinach, okro, spices, and others. All these plantations help me while cooking without necessarily going to the market to buy them.

How do you do it (plant care)

I plant and maintain all the plantations in the garden, in times when there is no rain for sometimes, I use my bucket and bowls to manually water the plant to grow well.

I use to create a space for the water to stay for my little pawpaw plantations and remove the dead leave so that the plant grows well. I always give my garden time and attention to all my plants, I derive joy in doing it no matter how little the garden may be.

Harvest system

For the harvesting system, I cut down the branch of the banana and the pawpaw I harvest so that the little ones growing can have space to expand and yield well. If I do not cut it down the little ones grow and the ones harvested will not yield well.

The vegetable has their life circle, so whenever that time reaches, I cut them down and plant a new one.

Risk of Planting Failure

There are a lot of risks and issues in managing plantations, especially in the garden. Sometimes, goats and sheep make their way to the garden and destroy the crops, inconsistency of rain can also affect the plant sometimes.

I experience a lot of insects damaging the plant, so I give much attention and always observe and then look for remedies before it condemns the garden.

What steps did you take to overcome crop failure?

I always make a site I give attention to my garden, I water the plant and harvest all crops due to be herbeayed on time. I seek advice from people who are experts in guide to grow and maintain my garden and plantations.

How much it costs

It cost me less because it is just a little garden for personal consumption. I spent at least NGN 5000 which is STEEM 30.87 to buy the seeds and some chemicals to control insects.
