Street Culinary: A View Of Barbecues and Capturing Moment With Road Side Hawkers

I will be back in town soon, and pictures of barbecue will never be missing from my device. My street is a very busy one in this popular city of Uyo, a student area well populated and full of business at all corners. Nobody wants to be left out. Yes, no one. Roadside food all over, but one thing is sure: no bargains. Prices are fixed because there is a union. Everyone here sells at the same price, though for some products prices may vary depending on whether the marketer is a producer, wholesaler, or retailer.

So the first thing I bought was a smoked chicken and potatoes with sauce. The sauce is prepared at home and brought here; the same thing happens to the chicken, but after that, they are stocked here and smoked to keep it warm.

There is this other shade we have, and that is the buns shade; all the preparation of buns is done here, the mixing of the flour and all of that is done under this shade, and the frying is also done there. Passers-by stop at the same point and purchase this food; the types of quickly prepared meals here are buns, egg rolls, fish pies, meat pies, and puff puffs; they are all made of flour, they are prepared differently, and their prices vary by product type and size.

I also want to display photos of a trader popularly known as Aboki, the hawker, with their barrows with different types of nuts; some specify on tiger nuts and quilli quilli, while some sell foods like onions and potatoes. The one on the display is a trader with tiger nuts; most are soaked in water to give them a good shape, and some are not soaked; they remain wrinkled. One similar thing in both nuts is that both nuts can be eaten as they are; they are ready-made food.
