Weekly Reflections #09: A Letter to My Future Self | Your Title

Hello everyone,
It's your favorite Steemian @rakiya from Nigeria and I'm delighted to join in this contest organized by @damithudaya in this noble community today. It's a wonderful contest and I love to share my participation in it.

A letter to my future self seems to be an interesting topic that I would love to participate in because this will bring out the creativity in me and it will help to project my next target. I want to believe that all who are reading this post will read it till the end.

How do you want to see yourself in the future? (Short-term or long-term)

It's going to be long-term for me because I still have a lot of years ahead of me before I will be thinking of settling down. As a woman, I want to be a working-class woman before going to my husband's house.

Currently, I'm in the College of Education and I desire to graduate here and then go ahead to complete my studies in the University. I don't want to be a half-baked graduate with just an NCE result hence I desire to go to the university.

So shortly, I want to see myself as a graduate of Business administration and also working in any firm where I will practice my profession thereafter, and I want to settle down and marry a man I truly love.

This is the reason I said it's a long-term plan because it's not achievable in the next 1-2 years but that is my dream and desire and I will work towards it.

What challenges do you expect to face, and how do you hope to overcome them?

Challenges make you stronger and for that reason, I'm not scared of the challenges that will be coming. I'm certain I will have challenges from my friends, parents, and many more most especially in the aspect of marriage since in this part of the world, once a lady is above 22, she will be pressured to get married.

Since I want to further my studies before getting married, I want to also get a job before getting married. I'm always going to try to avoid conversation that has to do with marriage and I will always try to keep myself busy so that the marriage thing won't get to me.

Also, I know that there will be financial challenges hence I have decided to start learning mini handwork which will help me settle my bills here in school and even when I intend to further.

What are the things that matter most to you right now?

What matters most to me right now is to study hard and come out with flying colors in my exams. I intend to come out as one of the best-graduating students in the college because it has been the custom of the college to sponsor the best-graduating student to any university of his or her choice.

So my focus right now is to attend that level so that I don't get to bother my parents about my school fees and every other thing that will be spent in the school. In that way, I can study even more effectively.

So in summary, my education is what matters to me more right now, and I'm putting in my all to see that my burning desire to succeed comes into play.

Describe one lesson you learned so far that you want to carry with you into the future

I have learned to be focused and never to be discouraged no matter the situation. The last best-graduating student in my school came from a very poor and wretched background but today he is celebrated because he was focused.

I have learned to be a goal-getter no matter the condition I find myself. If I'm ready and willing to succeed, I will succeed since I have a focus and I'm willing. So in life be social and know exactly what you are after and follow it with everything you have.
