Steemit Charity Outreach: A Kind Smile for Every Child (Diary of 28/02/24)

Today was indeed a heartening day as I enjoined for the the first time the Steemit worldsmile and Steemkids charity initiative for an outreach to Green Stars International School at Okung Estate, IFA Atai, Uyo. The outing goal looked simple but was impactful as it brought so much joy an excitement to the school children through a heartwarming donation of Dixon’s noodles.

Early in the morning I woke up to my usual duty of preparing my child to school. After dropping her at school, I stopped by @okere-blessing’s shop where she reminded me of today's reachout. I had to rush back home to get myself prepared to the place.

I arrived a little late after the team has reached. The warm welcome and smile from the students and teachers gave us the hope that our reachout was worthwhile. As they gathered under the shade of the school's flower curious about what we would share with them as that was the second round of the visit. This time was a mop up of children that were left or missed the last time.

We briefed them why we were there again to spread love and kindness by letting them know that Worldsmile, Steemit charity initiative really values them.

After arranging the children in cues, we began distributing the packs of noodles to them. They could not withhold their joy holding tight to their noodles on air as if they had been given a big treasure. Observing their sheer happiness reminded me of the importance of charity being so fulfilling that sometimes those little gestures can make a big difference.

One touching moment was when one little girl around age 3 and the half year came out freely to take a picture with us in the most free and sincere manner, her gratitude was glare reminded me that charity isn't just about what we can give but about how we are able to show love and bring hope to others.

When we finished the distribution, we spent a little time playing the Mp3 dancing and jubillating with the children. The kids were so excited to be granted such moment to express their happiness, they showcased different dance steps to our amazement arousing the curiosity of some of us suspecting some children to have Tiktok's siblings teaching them Amapiano's dance style at home.

Finally, as we were about to go back, the teachers and students expressed their appreciations, thanking Steemit Charity, Worldsmile and Steemkids for their support, love and care.

As we left the school's compound, I became thoughtful about the significance of what we just did, it wasn't all about donating noodles , it was about bringing hope, sharing love and being kind and putting smiles in the face of others because in life that's what really counts - giving back.

As I was coming back to go home along with @okere-blessing , I stopped by my child's school and picked her to the house. Pouring water on my body, had brunch, napped in 3 hours. Waking up I began writing this diary and be checking updates on my socials.

I really felt fulfilled today, having to be one of the partakers in that Outreach gave me a revive on the need to keep taking charity and humanitarian service as my core. Because in life in all that a man gets, what really matters is giving hope, sharing love and care, putting smiles on the faces of others. That generousity shouldn't depart from our being irrespective how much we get. I look forward to be part of this initiative another day like this.
