TODAY'S TEXT Matthew 16:13-20

MESSAGE

Many things in life tend to define people. Some are defined by city or village they live. Others are defined by their dress. Such things like car, hat, mannerism, etc, give people names. From our above text, Jesus once asked what men think of him! It is instructive that there is always what people think say about you. People's subjective views could be very inappropriate. For instance, Jacob saw in Joseph a good boy who will take good care of him in old age. His siblings saw in him a dreaming brat. The traders saw in him a blue chip investment. Portiphar saw in Joseph a diligent manager. The wife of Portiphar saw in him an erotic play boy. The prisoners saw in him a talented dream juggernaut. How wrong were many of them? One should not be so concerned about what people think of him. It could be kept in your brain-file for safe-keeping but don't let it distract you.

What the people were saying about Jesus were mere supposition, not a single one actually defined Christ. What people see is the package not the contents of an entity hence they all goofed. The content of an entity is hardly perceivable by mere observation. It must first be discharged or gotten by REVELATION. Peter exclaimed, "Thou are the Christ." Jesus confirmed that he got it by revelation (Matthew 16:16).

What is the Divine opinion on You: The safest place to obtain once stance in life-journey is from God. Dont allow people's opinion, circumstances of life adversity or reverses even fortunes or misfortune to define you. The most important dererminant of who you are is what God says about you. One of the greatest things God says about you is contained in our key verse of today. Take hold of it!

#🎚 CONTROLLING THOUGHTS
If you do not know who you are, you could live your entire life, acting out another person's. Worse still people will define you by their perception.
