TODAY'S TEXT 1 Corinthians 13:1

MESSAGE

Love is considered a psychological phenomenon of great importance to human and human society. There cannot be unity without love; there cannot be progress without love. A family which does not exist on the platform of love will disintegrate; a society where there is no love will be chaotic. Lack of love is a basic reason why many have committed suicide.

Paul the Apostle, x-rays the virtues of love. He explained that love is greater than eloquence (v.1); love is greater than spiritual and academic gifts (v.2); love is greater than philanthropy (v.3); love shows in patience and kindness (v.4); love is not proud or selfish (v.5); love does not exist in falsehood (v.6); love tolerates, trusts, endures and hopes in all things (v.7); love is a sure guarantee of success at the end (v.8).

Love does not count when it is still theoretical, love counts when it is expressed in the virtues aforementioned. When you say you love, show it by expressing it. As Christians we have declared the gospel by the word of mouth, preaching, teaching, and counselling, but, the gospel will be more effective, if we can demonstrate it through acts of care and showing of love. Make your love count today by demonstrating it and not just declaring it.
