In rural life, men and women used to go fishing using nets, casts, poles, khors, vel, and varnish. Even on days of significant rainfall, shing, magur, and kai fish were produced from the kanga-bearing ponds. Freshwater fish production has also decreased in these waterways. During monsoon season, Native fish were in short supply but are now scarce.
At that time the price of native fish rose, which became unaffordable for most people. Hybrid fish are sold these include Pangash, Silver, Medalcup, Grasscup, Tilapia, Burma Roe, and other varieties in the market. Kai raised there, Among these are horn, Magur, and Pabda fish. Almost all the historic ponds in Madhavpur are used for fish farming. In these ponds, various types of fish including Kai, Shing, Magur, Gutum, Tengra, Khia, Puti, Sarpunti, Mala, and Chapala are produced.Baim, Shoal, Gajar, Kangla and Chital. Native fish breeding is rapidly being destroyed due to overuse of pesticidesFishing due to desiccation of pesticide runoff and small water bodies. Due to the construction of dams on the plains and the rise of water around large reservoirs, enough different types of illegal current networks have been developed. The local fish are disappearing day by day
Overfishing, excessive use of pesticides in the environment.

Inadequate water supply is causing a steady decline in the number of delicious freshwater fish. Indiscriminate fishing, radioactive fish kills, and use of current nets. Fish breeding season is Baisakh and Jaishtha months. If there is sufficient water in these two months and other fish and fry do not perish. So, it is expected that these places will have natural fish in the sanctuary.

Every year the Department of Fisheries organizes a fish fair to protect the local fish species. The same program has been implemented at the district and upazila levels as well.
