"Gardening Challenge - A beautiful day with my family garden"

Good afternoon steemians, am glad am participating in this contest again, am surprised we are in the sixth part of the contest because I can remember myself participating twice. The two farmers in my home is my dad and I, we plant alot as we derive joy in doing so, most times we sell the crops we harvest while we eat them sometimes. I talked about planting of banana the last time and we harvested it recently. Special thanks to @irawandedy for creating this contest again.

Publish your simple plantation system

My simple plantation system is indeed simple and not much, planting has been very helpful to my family and I as we have been eating through the things we I will be talking about two things we planted so my plantation system is as follows;

Plantain : Many months ago my father and I planted plantain in the garden and the plantain tree was growing very taller but we weren't seeing any sign of the plantain. We felt discouraged thinking the tree won't bear fruit.

Even as we felt discouraged, we kept on taking care of the tree, watering it everyday till it finally bears fruit. One day I woke up and went to water the plants when I saw something coming out from the tree, I called my dad and he told me the tree has finally began to beat fruit. We were excited that day.

Bitter leave : In the ending of August I planted a bitter leave tree, the one outside our compound isn't that strong and fresh so I decided to plant new fresh ones that can make our soup very delicious. Planting is really fun and I love it alot.

An happy to see the tree of the leave growing and the leaves are very fresh. I can't wait to see this bitter leaf in it's adult stage, the leaves will be very many and fresh. Bitter leaves do make our soup delicious and nutritious.

How do you do it (plant care)

Planting has always been easy but have learnt that a good farmer must have patient. Before planting something new, I always make sure that I remove all the weeds near the portion of land I intend to plant so that weeds wouldn't affect the growth of my plant.

Most times whenever I want to plant banana or plantain, I make use of my shovel, I will use it to dig the soil a bit and put the root of what I want to plant inside the hole then I cover it. My shovel has really helped me alot and I do use it to uproot stubborn small banana tree.

Harvest system

Harvesting crops has always been what every farmer loves because they know is time to enjoy, we harvest our crops to eat them or sell them, sometimes we make it 50 - 50 whereby we eat 50% and sell 50%. I don't delay in harvesting.

Pests doesn't waste time to destroy our crops so if we waste time, pests will help us harvest our crops. Once is time to harvest, I remove the banana or anything am harvesting and I cut down the tree so that there will be enough space for other crops to grow.

Risk of Planting Failure

As a strong farmer, i don't let my planting process become a failure because if I stay lazy, what I have planted won't grow effectively that why they always say Nothing good comes easy If I want fresh crops I need to work very hard to get it. My compound is fenced so pests hardly invade and destroy my crops.

What steps did you take to overcome crop failure.

To overcome something as bad as crop failure, I always ensure that I take time to observe my crops all the time so that I can know when something is wrong before it escalate and affect the entire crops. I do make research in the internet just as I always say in my past entries. The internet is a great place to discover many plantation maintenance.

There's a little banana tree that's growing in my garden so I always take up time to take care of it now is a baby. I want this banana tree to produce lots of fruits so I will take my time to take go care of it and also make so many research in the internet.

How much it costs

Planting doesn't cause alot of money for my dad and I so we are profiting alot in it and the only thing we just invest in it is our time and strength, money isn't really involved to an extent. The highest thing I can say we use money is the money we use to buy fuel we use in pumping water to water our crops and is NGN700 which is 6 steem.
