Hello everyone, this is my entry into the Steemit Engagement Challenge S2W4 in the @steembetterlife community, i am happy to be placing my entry on my Act of kindness.

Every day we face different challenges and some other days we feel extremely blessed and uplifted, those kind of days we are happy and full of life that even when we go out on the streets we don't mind reaching out our hand in gratitude to others in need, or helping friends and families, as long as it makes their hearts leap in appreciation.
My story about my act of kindness was how i showed up for a friend despite the impossibilities of attending the event.
It was a very special event; her traditional and white wedding which all taking place in Etinan Local Government Area in Nigeria.
The moment I got the invitation, I felt so bad, thinking how I was going to miss this very important event as I was in Lagos State at the time. When I spoke to her on the phone, I could tell from her tone that she was not happy, so I tried to cheer her up and promised her that against all odds, I would be there for her on her BIG DAY on June 25/26th.
Not having a lot of cash on me, but by making up my mind to be there, I managed to gather up some money for my travels and expenses, my traditional piece, 'Ankara' and the 'Aseobi' Lace for the white wedding, and gele (headgear) was already wat billed to me earlier which I had sewn by a known seamstress to save costs.
On Friday I left for Akwa Ibom from Lagos packing all my things and feeling excited.
So i arrived and settled in and got ready for the big day.
The next morning was the traditional wedding day, I dressed in my beautiful cloth. since I had no money to buy her presents, I decided to help her as best I could.

We headed to her village (There were provisions for buses which conveyed people to the venue) and began the preparations for the marriage which was to take place at noon, helping out in the kitchen with the cooking and organizing the place to welcome the visitors.
So the event started and everything played out so beautifully, both couples looking so exquisite and enjoyed their day.

The following day, the white wedding took place in church, thereafter the reception...

I am very happy that i was able to show up and support my friend despite the inconveniences here and there on my part, that is what kindness is all about anyway, SACRIFICES.
The greatest part is that she was so happy and till days later today would not stop thanking and appreciating me for being there for here on her big day, myself, i feel fullfilled too.

That was a lot of love and sacrifice you showed to your friend on her special day. The gift is not important at times especially when you do things from your heart. Your presence there alone meant something great to her.
